Forums - PC - Played Tourchlight?

I just played through the Tourchlight demo that I downloaded from Steam. Its a very simple dungeon crawler from the same people who made Diablo and Fate apparently. Of course, it was just as fun as those games. I enjoy simple games like this that I can basically play with only the mouse and just let time pass me by.

I say it would be a good buy for $20.

I am playing it at this moment, it's like an ode to the original Diablo in everything, even to the overall world music in the town of Torchlight xD

I love playing as a Dual Wielding Gun Ranger, it's pretty fun.

All in all, it's a good buy at it's low price, if you enjoy dungeon crawlers and are waiting for the master of them all, Diablo 3, to release xD

I don't know why I decided Torch has a U in it. Maybe because its 3AM here.

Hehehe, don't worry, everyone makes typo mistakes like that ;)

It is essentially a better version of Fate and both of them are damned similar to the original Diablo.

I'm starting to get bored with it to be honest, I'm about level 27 I think. How much longer is there to go?

its too bad the pet system isn't better.

just had a sweet idea for a game...pokemon dungeon crawler. the setting would be in all the current regions of the pokemon world except it would be in medieval pokemon times. so you would have your character, and you could switch between many different pokemon as pets to have out but the best part would be fighting along side them with armor and weapons just like in diablo and torchlight.

you dont get much history in pokemon. this would be the chance!

Titan Quest is an actual full game that is much better. buy that

Repent or be destroyed

I thought Torchlight was a very very good game.

Good for at least 30 hours of playtime. After that, it started to lose its appeal. There simply wasn't any real incentive to go on anymore. But I seldom play games for that long anyway, so its quite an achievement.

While I agree that Titan Quest is the best alternative in the market for Diablo, nowadays, it's not fair to compare an actual full game to something that was a small project.

Torchlight is indeed a very good game, and it has some good mechanics as well. I liked the Pet mechanism, how you could change forms to suit different levels and playing styles (I love using the Ice Elemental pet)
