Absolutely ridiculous that you would keep supporting a company that sells a broken product. I wouldn't put up with that from any company regardless of the product.

I mean, I can understnad this but what about all the good things that the console offers, particularly it's library? That's kind of hard to ignore, especially for a previous 360 owner.

its not like the 360 is the only console in town with a good library *i understand sort of, but still, 3 is kinda ridiculous*

I actually don't blame him.  I'd get another 360 just for Alan Wake if mine broke.  Halo: Reach and Mass Effect are games idc much about.  I tried ME1, liked it for a while, but the frame rate dropping was too much for me.

Well, that's just it. There are a lot of games coming out on 360 that I want to play. If there weren't, it would be a different story of course. I could get ME2 on PC, but I want to carry my ME1 character over which is on my 360 HDD. SC:Conviction, Reach, Crackdown2, Alan wake, among others are must plays for me. Not to mention I was about halfway through Lost and Damned/Ballad of Gay Tony (both of which I think are better over all than GTAIV).

As for getting an elite, I already have all the accessories so I really only need the core unit. I wish I could buy a new one without controllers and everything else that comes with it. I'll probably hold off and see if there are any boxing day sales after Christmas.

Looks like Demon's Souls will get a lot more love in the mean time, which of course is not a bad thing.

I have an oct. 2007 pro and it has held up well. Remember though, with the 360 it is both equally care and the quality of the console.

Before, you could stuff a NES/genesis in a corner, pour water in it... and leave it on for a whole month and it would be fine.
The xbox 360 is a console that demands you leave it in a well ventilated area, and turn it off whenever necessary. If you don't, well.. It will make you a very pissed off person.
Sadly nowadays it is not just the quality of the product that ensures it lasts a long time. I'm not saying you mistreated your console though. Alot of xbox's were just not made well at all.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

If I followed your advice, then I wouldn't have all of the wonderful PS2 games I have - nor would I have even bought a PS3 in the first place.  As of yet, I am glad I did.

I would be hard pressed to buy the same console twice much less three times. No way in hell. I don't care which company makes it.

Eh, you are right that we SHOULDN'T have to rebuy, but sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks.  On the other hand, I do mostly agree with you, and (if my 60GB PS3 goes) I'll probably sell my PS collection - if the PS3 can't be fixed relatively cheaply.

My first one was a launch unit and it RRoD'd before they admitted it was a problem, so I gave that one to my brother who had it fixed (it later RRoD'd again and he kicked it down the street and bought another one).

Later, I bought a Halo edition 360 and that RRoD'd about 2 weeks before the 3 year was up, so I was lucky there.

Now the replacement unit I got, which is out of warranty, just had a DVD drive failure. Then I punched it and it RRoD'd lol.

Oh MS, how you beat me down and yet I still come crawling back. Looks like I'm going to go grab an arcade. What's the newest model? Jasper? I just can't pass up the 360 exclusives this year.

please dont get the arcard, its really a rip off, if your gonna a 360 get the elite in all seriousness....

we'll he can keep the hard drive and trade in his dead 360 for an arcade

Yeah, if you've already had a 360 and are just getting a new one for whatever reason getting anything besides the Arcade is a ripoff.

As for the OP, meh, electronics break.  You got three years out of it which is decent for electronics these days.  I'm not sure what else you expect them to do.
