If I followed your advice, then I wouldn't have all of the wonderful PS2 games I have - nor would I have even bought a PS3 in the first place.  As of yet, I am glad I did.

I would be hard pressed to buy the same console twice much less three times. No way in hell. I don't care which company makes it.

 

Eh, you are right that we SHOULDN'T have to rebuy, but sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks.  On the other hand, I do mostly agree with you, and (if my 60GB PS3 goes) I'll probably sell my PS collection - if the PS3 can't be fixed relatively cheaply.
