I will admit that Duke Nukem 3D is my favorite shooter of all time.  Yes, partly for the juvenile humor, but also because you could interact with most anything - toilets, microphones, pinball machines, projectors, etc.  I was REALLY bummed out with the Duke Forever situation* because (for the most part) I don't see any modern FPS games with that amount of interaction.

Have I missed them?  What are they?  I don't play many FPS's these days, as they aren't my cup of tea.  Here are the ones I have played heavily...

Wolfenstein (and Spear of Destiny)

Doom 1 and 2 (not 3)

Duke Nukem 3D

Shadow Warrior

Half Life (series)

Deus Ex (series)

Please tell me, is it my imagination or are there not any games with that combination of frenetic game play and high interactivity?

You should definitely check out Breakdown for the Xbox. Every single action is highly interactive. To pick up a gun, you have to stop, reach down, and pick it up. Same with picking up a clip, opening a door, flipping through the pages of a document,m and especially the first-person fistfights that dominate the game.

Most underappreciated game of the last generation, for sure.

Grrr, I don't have an X-box.  Is it emulated on the 360?  If so it would give me another reason to pick up a 360.  Actually, the only reason I haven't is that I have too damn many games that I haven't beat already on the PS3, PC and Wii . 

Pfoew...interactive with the world. I'm inclined to yell Battlefield Bad Company but interactive destruction is probably not what you are looking for.

Well, interactive destruction I like as well - Red Faction for example (I forgot to add that to the list of games I've played), but what I mean is - let's say I walk into a night club hunting aliens, can I turn on the music?  Can I turn off the lights (without shooting them)?  Can I drink from a random bottle of whiskey at the bar?

To me, that adds quite a bit of fun, humor and replaybility to a game.  Sadly, I don't think any other company took the lead from 3D Realms with Duke 3D.  If I am wrong, I want to know.

Yep, I can tell you from firsthand experience that it runs fine on the 360 (there's a little bit more slowdown in big action scenes than if you play on an Xbox, but it's not that bad).  A fantastic find, especially since you can usually get it for about $5 from EB.
