So i take it you think no game will ever sell past 4 million again eh?

Here is how big the Halo franchise is: When the Halo:Reach beta is released, it will be the most played game on xbox live, more than MW2. Bookmark this.

I'm sorry how can you tell how a game is going to sell by the OPENING SEQUENCE to the game ...???

Even if I don't mind the somewhat trolling OP...the lack of an intelligent conclusion in the post is staggering. From someone thats an admin here, I expected more...

ITs VGA's...game is 10 months away. They surely want to save the "ooooh" and the "aaaaah" for E3 or GDC or something.

The point of this video and VGAs was to keep Halo on the gamers mind and slowly build up anticipation.

Does U2 play their best song at the parking lot of their concert?

The only dumb part of all this was that clown who hyped it up and said it will be "be all end all" of trailers. Halo has always been a more subtle franchise that puts more emphasis on character. Whats the point of showing trailer explosions and gunfights if you dont know or care about the people that are fighting in it?

I was not trolling, I really believe what I say is true. I don't see this selling anywhere near Halo 3.

I'm a fan of the Halo franchise but lately they've been way to repetetive, and Halo: Reach seems like the same old thing, and if Master Chief is not in this game then theres no way it'll sell better then Halo 3.

You sir are indeed being a troll.  Claiming stuff like "lately they've been way to repetetive," spelling errors aside, you are way off base.  Halo 1 was the original.  Halo 2 built upon Halo 1 by offering XBL matches, ranking,  and DLC.  Halo 3 brought us an extension of Halo 2, but with the Forge + online reporting tools + the video gallery + DLC.  Halo Wars brought us the Halo universe in an RTS mode.  And, lastly, Halo 3: ODST brought us a new gameplay style (as an ODST) along with firefight mode.  Aside from core gameplay and excellent story consistency, this game has evolved significantly with every iteration.  Saying that Halo Reach will struggle to reach 4 million copies based on arguements like that shows just how much of a troll you are.

So when you say halo:reach is the same old same old and repetitive did you chose to ignore the apparent squad based element of this game and skill sets that each spartan will apparently have.  If anything Bungie appears to be showing us something completely new for the series.  As for the sales predictions I see +5million for first weeks sales and LTD over 12 million.

Y'd u edit that? the original seemed like a reasonable post

OT damn 4m Lifetime idk

id say 2.8m 1st week 5m+ lifetime

think the promblem with the halo games now is that games like COD, BFBC2, MOH, and ect. are becoming the mainstream or are already for FPSs i quess people love the moderen settings and weapons more in those games

i know i do I mean look at KZ2 sales a fantastic FPS game but low sales

i perfer looking at enviroments, enemys, and using weapons i can relate to

still dont know y Crysis2 isnt being hyped yet

                                                                      Play Me

I had no interest in Reach but after seeing that trailer I'm quite excited and I personally can't wait to see gameplay now. I say 7-10M.

LOL...didn't some people have Halo ODST LTD at 2.5 million??? BTW, the trailer was disappointing to say the least...to build the amount of hype, and show what...driving warthogs and landing helos...huh?

I highly doubt it'll outsell Halo: ODST, there really isn't anything promising that came from that first trailer. Graphics didn't seem much better at all either even though it's suppose to be upgraded. Nothing inspiring, same old same old, I'd say stick to Halo 3.

4 million LTD MAX.

Bookmarked for crow.  You either have zero understanding of Halo and its fanbase, or are just trying to stir things up.

I understand the Halo franchise and you can quote me if you want, I don't expect much from this. Of course a big first week (maybe 2.5 million) but not much legs like the average Halo game.

Again not trolling, I just don't believe it'll do that good, the trailer was very dissapointing, there was severeal trailer during the VGA's that was better. True Crime looks more interesting.

(I am a fan of the Halo series, I played all the games many times)

I don't think you understand what Halo: Reach actually is and why it will be much bigger than Halo 3: ODST.  Let me compare what you're trying to say with another series.  Imagine seeing the next big Grand Theft Auto game's trailer and then saying it'll only have the sales of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City (imagine for argument's sake that Episodes is also on PS3 because even then it still wouldn't have the same sales as GTAIV).  That is similar to what you're doing in this case because Halo 3: ODST is basically a standalone addon to Halo 3 like Episodes is to GTAIV.  It may add a bit to Halo 3's multiplayer and have its own small campaign but it's not a complete overhaul of the Halo engine and a complete new multiplayer, etc like Halo: Reach is.
