Well I think realistically it will be a toss between GOW, ME2, and Reach.  But for me Reach will most likely be GOTY.

So I'm wondering if this will be the first halo story to be completely squad based. Halo 3 had four player co-op but you could still play the single player as just the chief. The trailer specificaly said you can leave the lone wolf stuff behind now. I think we're looking at a squad based halo similar to ghost recon. To me I think this will be a huge improvement to the sp gameplay.

It would be different but I don't know if I want that.
That seems to suit ODST's more as they need to be tactical. For me playing as a Spartan means you're a super soldier, running into battle not hanging back giving orders. It could slow down the gameplay and I think a Spartan based game needs to be fast and action packed.

Or it could be after finding first Ghost recon slow and more of a chore it's tainting my view of what you're suggesting.

^agreed. i also found Ghost recon slow and a little taxing. My thought was to find a way to take the concept of squad based shooters and give it the speed of a halo style game. I'm hopeful the a team like bungie can pull it off, assuming that is what they are doing the in the first place.

The Spartans are enhanced and no doubt badass but they are not invincible. In the book they were all about being tactical and working as a team. As far as I remember this was stressed throughout from the very beginning when John and his team didn't get to eat because he acted alone to conquer the obstacle course. Sure one Spartan can wipe the floor with 30 jackals and grunts but up against a massive army flooded with Elites and Wraiths and what not he wouldn't fare so well. Now a squad of super soldiers working together will wreck shit.

If they could keep it fast paced and action packed then I don't see why a squad based Spartan Halo game couldn't work. if it did it would be very interesting.

No GP = disappointment...the ONE thing about the trailer that caught my attention was the skillsets statement, which when you look at spartans, makes you realize that we will have some RPG/Customization in the game.

Game of the year without a doubt.

Read man, read.  But your right, i was wrong.  What I should have said was no game will ever surpass it MP wise until the next halo after that comes out...

And I don't need actual gameplay to know its gonna be one of the best games ever.

I'd just like to tell that elite at the end of the trailer, if it's a fight you want, you got it!
