For those who have not heard, Tiger Woods is taking "an indefinite leave from golf." His reasoning is to work on being a better "husband, father, and person."

Depending on how long he is out, he may disappear from view so much that standing behind him is not a viable option for EA (or anyone).

It's winter right now anyway.  I'm sure he will be back to playing again in the spring.

He was supposed to play last week -- and he was supposed to start his season in January.

Golf as no real off-season.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

If EA were to dump him for their best best-selling series -> EA Sports: Tiger Woods Family Values, I'd completely understand...

Wait... what?... It's a Tiger Woods *GOLF* game? Ohhhhh... How is his personal life related at all?

And another note... who buys *ANYTHING* based on the perception that the dude selling it is a good husband?

Here's something fun: Show of hands... before this happened, how many people here knew, for a fact, 100% sure that Tiger Woods was married before this happened? - Personally, Had someone asked me, my answer would have been "Ummmm... I think i might have heard of that somewhere... Probably..."

EA stands by him now, but will see as we get closer to next years release.

I am just saying why does Tiger Woods have to be punished so severely? People are calling for blood basically. Just look at some some the American Football stars, they do a LOT worse than him and they are still idolized and make millions.

Michael Vick is still in the NFL despite his involvement in illegal dog fighting rings. If Tiger Woods did that, I would be campaigning for EA to drop him. But he only cheated on his wife, that nowhere near as bad!

Exactly! I am disgusted that they let him back in the NFL. I mean look at Tom Brady he left his pregnat wife for a super model girlfriend, which is another low move yet he is still adored by lots of people. So I am getting annoied that people are looking to crucify Tiger. What he did is rather tame compared to other things. I also forget the name of one football player but he had vehicular manslaughter(whie DRUNK!), and guess what he is still in the NFL

I know, but the big events are quite some time away.  The Masters isn't until mid April, and FedEx Cup events don't start until late August.  He can take three or four months off without missing much of anything.

You guys are throwing the man into the f'ing pits of hell for what? Sleeping around with his wife OooOOo. We know that she beat the shit outta him when she found out about the situation, but whats not to say that she abused him on a regular basis? Maybe that was the catalyst that made him cheat hmmm? I don't know but I find this kind of ridicule of Tiger to be the despicable thing.

I mean you guys are acting like he raped the women he slept with. He was a grown man doing grown things and if some of YOU can't raise your children to know whats right and what's wrong then your ass needs some better parenting skills. I was in grade 7/8 when I found out that Kobe allegedly raped that girl and cheated on his Wife. I haven't forced myself upon any females and I've never cheated on any of my girlfriends. Wanna know why? My parents instilled morals in me from an early age. Stop looking towards athletes on TV to raise your kids, do it yourself, make sure your kids aren't stupid enough to replicate everything they see on the Television.

God, this is just sad, throwing a man under the bus for not even breaking a crime. Its bad enough he got his ass handed to him by his wife, and his personal life is falling apart, but why should that affect the business aspect of his life? Hell the ones who are going to feel this the most are ironically his Wife and Kids since if he loses all of his endorsements it takes food out of their mouths

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

It's an image thing. His image is tarnished now, and that could result on many parents not buying the game for their kids, etc.

Then again it could not, EA will have to wait and see. But with him taking a leave from golf, that certainly doesn't make things easier for EA.

in all seriousness EA has no choice, there is nobody that would even be close to replacing Tiger Woods. It would have to be something extremely bad for EA to drop him.

Well the way I see it, if you have a public image, you have to take the good with the bad. If you want the fame, you can't complain when you become infamous.

As for "not even breaking a crime", well for many people this is worse than many of the crimes. Why do people have to base their opinions on the existing laws? This has nothing to do with law or crime.

On Topic.

Who cares. It's not related to his golfing abilities and it's his personal life. Why would you even care ?
