Is it necessary to call mis-informed posts stupid? (thought: wonder why mods don't mod you instead of stupid things?)

It was a stupid post, because you're using Sony's shipped to retail numbers and calling VgChartz's sold to consumers numbers wrong because they don't match up.
That is a stupid conclusion based on what I hope if ignorance.

This
seems far more serious than anything I've said or done. It's like your post history so far is just a meltdown from the NPD numbers.

No it's not necessary. The only stupid part in his post was telling VGChartz, the supplier of the info given away for free, to get their shit together, the rest was just a question. The problem I see with the community here is that they weren't targeting him for that last remark, they were calling his post stupid because he was mis-informed, maybe he didn't know VGChartz only tracks customer purchases but it's no reason to call him stupid. We're all guilty of it sometimes but oh well maybe it's because we're stupid altogether.
On-topic: Isn't there a way to find out from each retailer how many PS2's/N64's/PS1's/insert system here/Neo Geo's have been sold to customer's? It would be alot of work I know but it would only make the site more complete.
