You missed my point. I wasn't speaking of the thread in general. When NPD data is released, it seems as if sometimes it is treated as if it is world data when it is not. |
Oh ok, I see where you're coming from.

Nintendo has some games next year, but it's not enough to even be noticed in the PS360 war. LMAO |
Well little is known about what NINTY have. Though if any Wii fan says "well Zelda wii is all it takes" they're being very ignorant .. Microsoft and Sony are releasing a killer app too, of which both will sell better than Zelda.
So far the only other Wii games are SMG2 and Metroid Other M. That simply cannot beat what the PS360 have.

Funny how the PS3 Trolls come out of the wood work and into the Microsoft Discussion forum. Almost as funny as how everyone just has to talk about US sales in an NPD US sales thread. |
Troll? Feel free to check my post history, you will find that I'm no troll and I rarely post in the Microsoft Discussion forum. Your attempt at insult has failed.
And apparently, everyone missed the point on that first sentence. Maybe I could have made it clearer. It wasn't directed towards the thread, I wasn't trying to bring the rest of the world into the disscussion.

^Just quoted myself.
What's really funny is that I didn't notice I was in the microsoft forum until after I had posted, thought I was in the sales forum. I was going to edit it because I figured I would get some heat from the pro 360 crowd, as I am pro PS3. But I said to myself, what the heck, let's roll with it. And I gotta tell you, I haven't been quoted in a single thread by so many folks, well, never. And I'm pretty positive that I've broken my daily post count record as well. It's fun, lets keep it up.

LOL. Here I just qouted you, too. But I do agree with your statement. I know it's PR, but come on. I just hate how MS just like using the US to gauge their PR claims. And to assume GT5 isn't going to be a big game just because you have Halo coming out, ok.
The real issue I have, though, is how he speaks of the marketshare for PS3 "stabilizing" to normal levels. How is that when it has been going up on an almost weekly basis? I know he's speaking of the USA, but he doesn't make that clear at all and anyone uninformed would assume he just means in general. I'm just amazed by the amount of people in forums who say the Slim got a 2-3 week boost at most, and the 360 is outselling it overall. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
Who here feels Aaron Greenburg is Microsoft's equivalent of Sony's Jack Tretton.
2010 is going to be the final hurrah of this generation...not in terms of sales, perhaps not, but next gen consoles news will start to spill, and these consoles are going to move to in-waiting status...
Halo REACH is a non event outzside NA/UK
GT5 is an event outside NA
well, as I have said : no 360 arcade = poor 360 sales
Time to Work !
also, no walmart gift card = no NPD domination
it is like there was a NA price cut for the 360 indeed ....

If remember correctly, Wal-Mart and Amazon aren't tracked by NPD? If it's so Xbox 360 could have even much better Novemer than NPD did show.

They estimate untracked retailers. The NPD numbers are supposed to represent the best view of total sales in US.
OT - pretty good for 360, US remains its stronghold for the generation (against Sony that is, clearly it is well behind Wii there). It's clear though the 360 success remains focused on FPS and large action titles. Those are what drive the big boosts for 360 and those are what give it the best chance to hold of PS3. Driving and other genres don't matter. Sure, 360 has to have good titles in them, but if MW2 hadn't landed when it did 360 would have struggled to achieve those numbers IMHO.
The 360/PS3 split shows this. While many games see splits in line with install base, big FPS always skew heavily to 360 because it owns online play in US, and Sony is going to struggle to make a dent in that.
Nonetheless, in terms of actual YOY growth PS3 remains the big winner of the home consoles. A big jump for US, and with a weaker base and without the benefit of big MW2 and Walmart bundles. Clearly Sony can regain ground in US, perhaps enough to pass 360 WW eventually, but I don't they'll pass 360 in US. Not with Wii continuing to gobble up the more casual market formerly taken by PS2.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
