WOW! I'm also shocked by these numbers. We all thought and expected PS3 to be ahead of XBOX 360 this month. Looks like we were all wrong, especially vgcharz ^^

VGC Americas VS NPD USA

360: VGC = 805K, NPD = 819K: negative correlation, something is off base here. NPD high or VGC low? who knows? If VGC is right then NPD should have been in the low 700s at least. If NPD it right then VGC should be up somewhere close to 900K or a little over. Not 1 million though.
PS3: VGC = 840K, NPD = 710K: Seems reasonable, countries other than USA achieving ~130K sales in the month. Pretty good correlation, certainly within a margin for error.
Wii: VGC = 1.37 million, NPD = 1.26 million: only 90K sales outside USA seems a bit low, correlation not so good, but could be within a reasonable margin for error.

As a benchmarking excercise PS3 numbers get a B+, Wii numbers get a C and 360 numbers get a F. Overall the numbers get a C. Problem is we don't know who is responsible for the low grade. VGC or NPD?

It must disappointing to ioi to see the some in the VGC community continually dragging threads down level. I can only imagine how many visitors come to this sit for the first time only to be scared away permanently by threads gone wrong like this one.

Its sad, VGC, ioi, and his team deserves better.
People are having way too many meltdowns, and it pretty evident in the amount of bans i see going around. We should be able to do better than this.
