Around the Network
  1. Zombieland -- what can I say?  I just *loved* this movie.
  2. 28 Days Later -- this movie still frightens me and I refuse to watch the BlueRay of it on my 120Hz TV because it would just be that much more scary.
  3. Dawn of the Dead (remake) -- I loved this movie.
  4. Shaun of the Dead -- all around awesome movie.
  5. Junk -- random bad Japanese zombie movie that cracks me up.
  6. Quarantine/Rec -- not technically zombies but close enough
  7. 28 Weeks Later -- Not nearly as good as 28 Days Later but still good.
  8. Land of the Dead -- not bad, not good, but enjoyable.
  9. Diary of the Dead -- see above.
  10. Dawn of the Dead (original) -- It's not that I don't like it, it just doesn't scare me.  I know what it was trying to do but I like my zombie movies to scare me.

I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost cant wait for their new movie "Paul".

yeah, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are two of the funniest films ive seen.

5. Zombieland - This movie felt as if someone played Dead Rising for a month and then decided to make a movie
4. Night of the Living Dead - The classic zombie movie
3. Shaun of the Dead - Hilarious
2. Dawn of the Dead (remake) - It brings the zombies about one minute into the film and doesn't stop after that
1. 28 Days Later - Just a perfect zombie flick

When it comes to zombie movies, I'm definitely into the more recent offerings. The old movies don't do much for me.

Yeah, I'll watch the older one and they just don't terrify me in the same way the newer ones did.

Dawn of the Dead is a perfect example.  The original zombies just weren't threatening.  When the survivors can just casually bump a zombie out of the way you really have to stop thinking about the movie and start wondering why the zombie apocolypse actually happened.  In the new one, they're still slow but these ones are at least threatening.

Now with 28 Days Later and the fast zombies, those just scare the piss out of me.  When I'm watching a zombie movie I like pretending that stuff actually happened and I could imagine a zombie outbreak from 28 Days Later actually ruining everything in its path.

I do the same thing. The original zombies are so slow that I sit there thinking "just sprint 1/4 mile... you'll be so far away it won't matter after that". The zombies just aren't scary. Even in the Dawn of the Dead movie some of the zombies were fast... I'm thinking of that Asian dude who charges the door when they're unloading the truck of people.

28 Days Later's zombies were absolutely terrifying. Danny Boyle is awesome. Too bad 28 Weeks Later was so terrible. The first 30 minutes were awesome and it went progressively downhill from there. By the end, I couldn't wait for the movie to be over.

I'm not really good with making lists for movies but Shaun of the Dead and 28 Days would definitely be near [if not at] the top.

4 ≈ One

Zombieland and 28 days later were both fantastic.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I see we have a lot of newer zombie movie fans here. I suggest you give some of the older movies a try you might like them. I really enjoed the first half of 28 Days Later it was great. All 3 of the Resident Evil movies are really fun to watch.

Meh, just because something is a classic doesn't mean it's the best.

Newer zombie movies have trumped the older ones in most every way.
