Maybe they count only three weeks in a month for the playstation brand.

I think it's that most people would see the vgchartz numbers and directly compare them to NPD, making it seem like vgchartz was off more then it was. The real issue is that vgchartz counts all of North America and South America with it's USA data, and NPD is JUST USA. So vgchartz adjusts their data to show only the USA sales for the month, making it more in line with NPD and helping avoid even more confusion.

Its because the preview only has us numbers and the 840 number includes countries like canada and prob mexico also..

Perhaps they are talking USA only, and you are using NA numbers. It helps to do some research into what the numbers mean before attempting to attack them.

Perhaps the weekly VGC reporting of America's numbers could be like that of Others every week: where the total is broken down to list the major markets individually, and then "Other America" at the end. So: give individual data for USA, Canada, Mexico, and everything else (Any other prominent individual countries?). Like this for Others. (Edit: Oops just noticed the missing console identification for each number, never mind I'm sure you get the idea)

I predict that PS3 will be undertracked and 360 will be over tracked. Thats what happend in the last few NPD reports.

VGchartz weekly numbers are North America, including US, Canada, and Mexico.

The Preview numbers are US only, because they want to compare with NPD, which is US only.
So the preview numbers will obviously be lower.

It's not that hard to understand.
