Halo is bigger than GT now.  Wasn't last gen, but it definitely is now.  Honestly, I'm a little shocked you're taking so much issue with Microsoft's commercially stronger 1st party, it's pretty cut and dry.  And lol @ "true colors".

Game Sales
Gran Turismo 10.85 million
Gran Turismo 2 9.37 million
Gran Turismo 3 14.89 million
Gran Turismo 4

10.83 million

Game Sales
Halo 6.43 million
Halo 2 8.43 million
Halo 3 10.45 million

Halo is bigger than GT on the basis that it finally managed to outsell the lowest selling full GT game to date?
If anything, the figures seem to indicate that GT5 will outsell GT, GT2 and GT4 (on the basis that GT3>GT1, GT4>GT2). You could even say the figures indicate GT5 will be the biggest selling GT game ever, though that is highly unlikely as it won't be so heavily bundled. GT is just as big as Halo though.

I doubt that GT5 will crush previous GT games, but to say that Halo is definitely bigger is just plain false.

Actually, the lowest selling GT hasn't cracked a million yet.  Momentum!

Way to ignore a significant word! Hardly anyone would regard GT PSP as a full GT game...the fact that it is on PSP should show that.

Halo ODST marks massive decline for Halo series, lowest selling Halo FPS ever!

Sony considers GT PSP a full GT game going by their product page (Prepare for the most authentic handheld racing experience as the best-selling Gran Turismo® series debuts on the PSP® system.).  But you're probably right, they're hardy anyone. :P

You can't compare PSP sales to PS3 sales.  PSP sales are heavily affected by both piracy and DD.  The system has only has 29 million sellers in its five years on the market, while the ps3 already has 46.

Also, you mentioned GT5:P early, saying that GT5:P to GT5 is like GT3 to GT4.  That comparison is flawed, because of the existance of this, the GT3: Prologue of its day.

Also, the "next gen bump" that many games see (GT2 > GT3, DMC3 > DMC4) doesn't just revolve around graphics.  Content also has a lot to do with it, whether that's the improved combat system of DMC4, or the improved physics and damage and the insane number of cars in GT5.  GT5:P was essentially GT4 with only 70 cars and an improved graphics engine.  It's not nearly the same as GT5, which provides substantial improvements over both GT4 and GT5:P.

Why argue a self confessed troll ?

You can post facts and truths but the troll will always have the advantage, hes on the right side.

Funny the crap he gets away with id have every mod on here on my ass for.

While install base could limit the sales of GT5, there is one factor weighing in GT5's favor. Sony is on the ropes this gen. They don't have a plethora of third party exclusives to live on, so they've been forced to push their first party stuff as hard as possible, as their own titles are all they have left to differentiate themselves from Microsoft. This can be seen in the sales of their first party titles this gen.

Last gen, SCE saw five games that topped 3 million in sales:

Gran Turismo 3/4
Socom: U.S. Navy Seals
Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
God of War

This gen, these titles have already broken 3 million:

Resistance: Fall of Man
MotorStorm
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue

And these titles are on the verge of breaking 3 million:

Uncharted 1/2
LittleBigPlanet

These titles will likely break 3 million:

God of War III (pretty likely, imo)
Killzone 2 (it's inching along, and may cross 3 million one day)

And then we know GT5 will break 3 million.

That makes at least 7 SCE titles that'll have broken 3 million in the end, compared to only five titles last gen.

GT5 will likely also see increased marketing over its predecessor, much like Sony's other franchises this gen. This is their big kahuna for the EU, and they will make the most of it.

NGS wont keep any one buying 360s its not a real exclusive its not 1st party as in developed by MS. Uncharted God of War and Gran Turismo will keep people buying PS consoels as they are Sonys and no other platform but Sonys will see those games.

So Accept defeat or post a real list of 1st party exclusives and their slaes. Man up dude.

The Halo branded games will outsell all Uncharted/GOW/GT branded games combined this gen.  If you want to talk about HD exclusives that the mainstream actually cares about, the discussion begins and ends with Halo.

LOL whatever you are on, cut the shit down a bit.  Is it like clown day and you are just out to make me piss my pants from laughing.

GT this gen will do what all the Halo branded games do.  If you truely are delusional enough to think HAlo is all that bigger then GT proves all your posts are just bias bs.

But ok you have shown your true colors, don't bother replying.  Your are a waste of my time.

I admit, I was trolling with the Halo comment, but actually breaking it down, I might actually be right (lol).

Currently:

Halo 3 + ODST + Wars = 15.73m

Uncharted 1/2 + GT5P + GOW Collection = 8.18m

Upcoming:

Halo Reach (8m+)

GT5 (8m+)

GOW3 (2m+)

Continued significant sales for ODST, UC2 & GOWC (likely 1-2m more each).  Maybe for Halo 3 also even.

Cherry picking is cherry picking lol.

lol.  I'm not the one who picked those PS brands, you can thank Hus for the "cherry picking". <3

What do you mean? HUS pick those 3?  Hus just gave an example of what 1st party games to list. GT and GOW haven't have full game released yet. That's an unfair comparison.

I ask for one thing, he use's it for his bs.

hes still not made the list, id say his actions are quite cowardly.

In my opinion, the biggest thing that Sony has going for them at this point is, they still have a serious price drop available as an option, without the confusion of having to decide how to price two or three different versions proportionately.

Dropping the PS3 to $249 or $199 would dramatically increase sales. For Microsoft to duplicate this, they would probably have to drop the arcade to at least $150, which would probably be awkward, as it would likely undercut sales of the other versions. OTOH, they could just discontinue the arcade and drop the price of the standard model to $199, so I don't know how much of an effect it would have. Still, from what I have seen, a price drop of the same dollar amount generally favors the more expensive console.

U R not going to see Sony dropping price for a good long time.  Sony has to get the PS3 business profitable sooner rather than later or the whole generation will be a loss for Sony.  You will see the PS3 at $199 when the 360 Arcade is $99 and Elite with Natal at $199.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

CGI, you expect the 360 to end this gen in 2nd place, right?

Absolutely.

U crazy?

Can't u see the writings on the wall?

I just don't see Micorsoft coming this far to let the gen slip right through their fingers. You guys don't think Microsoft has any juice left in the engine to fight with?

Well I believe that this race is Fanboys fantasy.

MS could well end even a little behind Sony, they would still succeed in their objectves:

- Making more money than Sony (Hardware + services)

- Selling more games

- Consolidate the XBOX brand

That was until @E3/GDC don't know sure when....At the MS presentation someone said 'We will sell more Xbox 360's this gen'.
