Forums - Gaming - Will the sales gap for the next GTA game be as large as it was for GTA 4?

I noticed this the other day too. I was surprised at how close they were. Wasn't the 360 version ahead by almost 2:1 after first week sales?

 

@Boney: What did Sony do to you? Must have really pissed you off anyway since you like to have a go at them in every thread. Kind of funny to laugh at your posts so please carry on. And stop using links to back up a point which has nothing to do with what you are arguing.

THE XBOX 360 IS PIRATED!!

I know several people that buy ZERO games for their 360s.

So I don't get too shocked when I see these numbers. Surprising yes, shocking no.

Every SONY fan here claims the psp's software failings are because it is pirated...BUT THE XBOX 36O is pirated too, and it has the HIGHEST ATTACH RATE IN CONSOLE HISTORY.

Of course, that's MAJOR speculation, but it isn't impossible.

You also have to take into account rockstar are making Agent for the ps3, as of now exclusive. If it remains exclusive (which I do believe it will do to the 2 game deal sony and rockstar signed awhile back ago) and it sells 3m+ then I believe we could see GTA exclusive to the sony platform again, that is if they pony up the money.

Calling people stupid for buying the PS3 version of a game (Over 6 Million people...) Isn't an opinion. It's flaming.

If i bought the PS3 version, and saw that... You would be reported for it.

Please find where I called the PS3 owners "stupid" for buying GTA 4 on their system? I simply said people were smart for buying it on Xbox 360. Overreacting much... I think you are ;)

Insulting... LOL, you can't be serious. Well, the bottom line is this: If you love GTA 4 and can't get enough of it, the Xbox 360 version is for you. If you walk into a game store, you're going to see more GTA 4 support for Xbox 360. The PS3 may have other redeeming qualities (which I'm considering soon enough to purchase), but it certainely doesn't have GTA 4 support.



Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

The bottomline is: no matter how much "support" for the 360 version is there, it hasn't stopped the PS3 version from selling at a higher rate.

Ok, the insults conversation is redundant, but what you said WAS insulting, no way around it. Drop it though, you seem so defensive as to insinuate a guilty conscience. Leave it be...

Now, you said the 360 version was the one people preferred. Initially that was true, because it sold better on it overall. However, despite the advertising, support, DLC, the PS3 version is selling faster. The only way to explain that is, more people are finding interest in that version for whatever reason.

Maybe that's hard for you to swallow or maybe it isn't. But as far as the numbers go, it is what it is.

Well, when the overall final sales of PS3 GTA 4 is more than the Xbox 360, I will find it hard to swallow.... quote me on that. But at least I will have DLC packs + have throughly played through them.

We are patient, I could get Tales of Liberty City now if I wanted, but I am patient to wait for R*, who have basically never released an exclusive game

I have NEVER heard any PS3 fans complain either way about that DLC. Seems he's the only one concerned about iy.

Yeah, that's just from your experience. Many of my PS3 friends complained about it. You know what they did then? Came over my house and played the DLC packs. Two of them did actually buy a 360 because of this though.
