Tanks is the only good thing on it. Nintendo should release it on WiiWare, then I could sell of my copy.

The Wii games have motion control, but they don't blow me away like the Gamecube games did in their time. That's my complaint. This is more of a criticism of the Wii's hardware, than Nintendo's application of the Wii's hardware. |
Qauntum leap over the N64?
Luigi's mansion was boring (first Nintendo home console to launch w/o a Mario game, I figured a Luigi game was just as good... boy was I wrong). Mario Sunshine wasn't nearly as fun as Mario 64.
Are you talking about graphics rather than fun/gameplay?

SMG, SMG2, NSMBWii >>> Super Mario Sunshine Mario Kart Wii > Mario Kart Double Dash Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid Other M >>> Metroid Prime 1/2 Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn > Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance NPC! Pikmin 1, NPC! Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3 >>> Pikmin 1/2 Brawl > Melee Twilight Princess Wii > Twilight Princess GCN Super Paper Mario < Thousand Year Door Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Party 8, Wii Play >>> however many Mario Parties there were for GCN Animal Crossing: City Folk > Animal Crossing Batallion Wars II > Batallion Wars (anything else that I'm forgetting?) ...and that leaves The Wind Waker, both Star Fox games, F-Zero GX, Geist, Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion (and a few others that I might be forgetting? idk) unanswered. However, there are also Punch-Out!!, Sin and Punishment 2, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Music, Excite Truck, Excitebots, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Fatal Frame IV, Dynamic Slash, Endless Ocean, and others for Wii. Not to mention, Zelda Wii, which obviously exists, various WiiWare projects, and anything else that comes out over the few years, given that the Wii has only been out for three years.
So, what are people complaining about again? |
Wow... I didn't even realize Nintendo produced the same amount of games... The real problem is 3rd parties but in 2010 it will be forgotten with Monster Hunter 3 and Red Steel 2...
2010... Wii will get the same amount of good games than the PS3 and Xbox 360.
2010... The year of the gamer since of 2007.

Why is that?
What do you want finally for Nintendo? Create a HD console and lose again the war console but get much more stuff for core gamers?
Gamecube was a great failure for Nintendo and it got tons and TONS of 1st party titles. Why should they do the same thing with the Wii if now they have success? If you're not happy with your Wii, don't play it, then wait 'til end of 2010 and come back to see what's going on.
Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game ever and one of the highest rated game and it's on the Wii, not on the Gamecube. Wait until beginning of 2010 and you will have the sequel of the best Mario game ever.
Three thoughts.
First there are a lot of good first-party games on Wii -- and were a lot on the Cube.
Related to this, comparing the complete GC collection to the partial Wii collection is unfair because we don't know the totality of all games on the Wii. (For example, when Kirby comes out, the Wii wins hands down!)
Finally, remember a lot of these first-party games were farmed out to second (Rare) and third (Namco, Hudson) parties.

Third,
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. N64 kicked the shit out of GameCube. Honestly, I'd say GC was easily Nintendo's most disappointing console 1st party wise, from the rushed to market Zelda/Mario to the various (mostly disappointing) outsourced sequels to the loss of the "Second Party" support system. And the sales really reflected that.
GameCube's best Nintendo games (Twilight Princess, Retroid 1-2, Pikmin 1-2, DKJB) got improved Wii ports anyway. Good riddance.

I thought it might be because Galaxy had more small landmasses. I like the tropical style of Mario Sunshine too, though there are a couple stages I really don't like.
