Dead Space 2 announced, detailed

EA’s finally announced Dead Space 2, as you can see in the PR after the break. It’s confirmed for PC, 360 and PS3, but there’s no date.

Apparently, Isaac’s going to be “taking the fight to the Necromorphs” this time, with new weapons, new characters, and “epic zero-G environments”.

“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey,” said EP Steve Papoutsis.

“The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing.

“In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”

Btw, how do I link a thread to a game?

I guess the more choices the better for the gamers...

Was Dead Space such a sales success that it needs a sequel?

Or did they forget to implement some of the ideas they stole from other games/movies when they were making the first game?

The second will sell a lot better. The first Dead Space was a sleeper hit.

I am in the expectation for the late on-rails port for the Wii and further whinning from it not selling good enough.

I actually prefer the rail shooter over the original game... That was not a me-too port by any means but a new experience designed for the Wii strengths(and weaknesses) in mind.

Great that Dead Space got a sequel, the first one was a really great survival horror game. Now, I have a question regarding a possible loop hole in the plot. Issac is supposed to die in the ending movie of Dead Space 1. How can the sequel be about him? I'm intrigued now o.o
