I upgraded my memory to 500gb 5 months ago. Last week my ps3 stopped reading discs so I went to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new PS3 (best buy warranty) but didn't back up my data. I thought I would just be able to use my 500 gb memory in my new ps3 but it's telling me to format it.

So this means I'ld need my old ps3 to back up my data and format the 500gb and restore it on there but when I went to Best Buy, they told me they already shipped out my old ps3.

Does anyone know how I can use my old 500gb with my new ps3 without formatting it?
