Forums - Sony - Can I connect to my PS3 from anywhere?

I have a psp and I was told that as long as my ps3 and psp have access to the internet I can use remote play. I'm going to New York next month, if I bring my psp can I remote play to my ps3 which is in Texas?

You should be able to, but I think you need to make sure your PS3 is set-up to accept a PSP connection

You will need a WiFi connection and your PS3 will need to be switched on.

I'll be gone for a week, will it mess up my system If I leave it on that long?

Well you wouldnt want YLOD...

Supposedly folks leave their ps3s on for months on end (one dude says his has been on 2yrs none stope) so...it's based on luck. Just remember to set up the remoteplay access before you leave.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Your PS3 doesn't have to be left on. You can turn on the PS3 remotely via your PSP. You just need to configure your PS3 for remote starting.
