N64 was platformer heaven, after that, the poularity of the genre somehow dwindled... Now it's almost dead. Too bad, I really would've liked another Banjo-Kazooie.

And no, before anyone tries to be smart, Nuts & Bolts was about as much of a real Banjo game as Mario Kart is a FPS.

Agreed. Although we are getting more now than we did at the start of the generation. We've just had NSMBWii, we have SMG2 coming, we have Boy and his Blob if you want to go old school, LostWinds 2 is pretty great for a Wiiware game but what i want is this....

Even if you never played it read some of the review excerpts and tell me you wouldn't like to see a sequel to this game

I did buy and love Little Big Planet but no I did not purchase Mega Man 9

Come to think about it there has been a decent amount of good platformers released within the last year and a half maybe its a revolution. Little Big Planet, and De Blob as well as an awesome R&C Crack in Time, have yet to play the new boy and his blob.

But damn I remember before the FPS revolution occured there were so many great platformers if you liked N64 and PSONE era then you loved the SEGA SNES era even more.

I personally think that 2d platformers and 3d platformers have a lot left to offer and would like to see some companies take a chance on them.
