Forums - Gaming - EDGE: "Bayonetta Slaps Dante, Kratos and every other hero"

Not really my kind of game, and I found the demo somewhat boring once I realized just how much you can abuse the Witch Time dodge, but having played DMC4 to give this type of game another go it does seem that Bayonetta at least adds a lot of new moves and approaches.

A 10 seems a little high with the praise, and maybe I'm not best suited to judge for this type of game, but the demo certainly didn't make me feel I was experiencing perfection, which for me is what a 10 signifies.

Also, what's up with the weird character animation all these types of games have, with rapidly running characters gliding over a fairly detailed but non-interactive background? Is that a function of needed to support so many fighting animations - I always find it pulls me right out of the mood of the game.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Slapping Kratos would be the last thing she ever did.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter what anyone else says, its a common fact that the only one who can beat a bald man is Chuck Norris, thats why Chuck Norris created himself, if he wasn't around, the bald people would have free reign over the earth.

As king of the bald race, Kratos will turn Bayonetta into a hairy quilt if they ever meet!

well I was blown away with the 360 demo months before it was released on western xbl..

definitely be picking up bayonetta

Dont pretend you wouldn't prefer GoW if you had a PS3 though ;)

I'll be picking up Bayonetta when I get a 360 most likely. Even if Sony does step in to help with the western release of the PS3 version, there is only so much they can do, and I refuse to buy something that is as compromised as the PS3 version seems to be.

I will most definitely get GoW3 though, and love it. I've played neither the GoW3 or Bayonetta demo, but God of War for me, was always about the great pacing, fun combat, huge puzzles and awe inspiring set pieces. Like Uncharted, God of War is about refinement.
We'll see how the two match up later on.
