Forums - Gaming - EDGE: "Bayonetta Slaps Dante, Kratos and every other hero"

The demo ALONE is worth £40

Simply AMAZING.

I love hack and slashers and i consider NG, GOW, DMC, Chaos Legion, Shadow of Rome and Onimusha all to be roughly on the same level when it comes to brilliance.

But the bottom line_______________________ is that Bayonetta destroys the competition with one hand tied behind her back.

Eh...it definitely has nothing on Ninja gaiden though. Gott give it credit for the crazy fast pace

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

meh.

Bayonetta, NG and DMC are games focused on combat mostly and have extremely cheesy stories. These games are saidstically hard on harder difficulty levels.

God of War on the other hand is almost of another sub-genre as it incorporates platforming as well. God of War is amazing if you stray away from the square square triangle combo. Sure, you can button mash your way through it, but you can also play it the awesome way.

Its like comparing WRPGS to JRPGS ? See ?

A better comparision would be God of War III and Dante's Inferno.

Other than the "fun" combat, God of war has an AWESOME story, and the scale of it is much larger than any of those games !

In Pandora's Temple in God of War 1, you had to face its 3 challenges and solve many puzzles to get to a point which you unlock a door to go to its center and that wasn't the end of it ! Truly HUGE ! Same with the Temple of Fates in the Second game.

God of War 1 & 2 are two of the best games ever made, although its combat is not as deep as those other games as a full package it trounces all those games easily.

Don't get me wrong, I love DMC and Bayonetta as well.

From what I've played,

God of War > DMC3 > Bayonetta > DMC4 > Ninja Gaiden

The block puzzles and clumsy platforming killed God of Puzzle for me.

However, the fact that you believe DMC4 is better than the original Ninja Gaiden astounds me beyond belief.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Also, the fact that you can do 100/200+ hit combos by literally repeatedly pressing the same button (occasionally 2 buttons) in GOW doesn't to it any favours either.

Storyline in GOW is excellent, but gameplay wise, many hack and slashers out there trounce it.

@Zen

I said platforming, not puzzles. I have not played any "full" ninja gaiden games. Only the NGS demo, so I don't think I should have entered NG at all....however I did not like what I saw in the demo.

@Ronster

God of War can't really be compared to those games. (combat wise)

You know like WRPG vs JRPG

Bayonetta 360 will use that massive black dragon/monster whatever it is to eat Kratos and Dante at once. They'll have a better chance against Bayonetta PS3 though as she's a bit slower and jerky

If Kratos doesn't die, he will set that dragon monster on fire (her hair) before the thing munches him down. Then he'd violate Bayonetta and chop her head off while laughing.

If Kratos dies like that, he'll climb back the epths of hades and with nefound power, will destroy Bayonetta 360 by ripping her to shreds.

Bayonetta = sexy

Kratos = Badass

She'd better have a spare head If she slap's Kratos...

So Bayonetta is going to stop God of War 3 from being a system seller/game changer? This is what I am reading between the lines now.
