Forums - Nintendo Discussion - When game "journalists" have their trolling exposed.

I just found this one, and granted it's an opinion piece but so much of this is presented as fact it's terrible.

The first point is just terrible. Motion control has worn off? When Project Natal and the PS3 Wand are on the horizon?

There's also some bull about casual gamers not providing a consistent revenue stream... Despite Sony and Microsoft being the companies that have lost billions in their gaming divisions over the years.

I'm sorry i dont have alot to add to this terrific thread but i just wanted to add my support for it.

I dont know it seems to me this anti-Wii thing may backfire on these biased people. The more and more i look around on the internet the more and more people i see sticking up for the Wii. Not Wii fanboys, hey even the Wii is not perfect, but real smart people with informed info. Kinda like threads like these.

The hardcore post and live on the forums and i see a lot of people on forums love the Wii. Maby its played by more of the "real gamers" than people think.

Anyways.

Well I recently went back and read Daemons blog post regarding the backlash he got for saying "Wii is stupid" on that episode of Game Scoop! The most revealing part of the entire post was the very end where he literally accuses anyone who dares oppose him by commenting on his blog of actually agreeing with him that "Wii is stupid." He was throwing out one of those "you're on the web complaining because you have no awesome Wii games to play."

I went through every page of comments and noticed that 95% of the comments were from anti-wii gamers criticizing Wii and Wii-gamers of being butthurt at his comment. Don't anti-Wii gamers have anything better to do than to troll about a console they claim they don't care about? i.e. Play video games?

Where did they say that the Wii's bubble was going to burst?

There is also the Wii Fit FUD attempt (failed miserably). It started with a Forbes article saying how Wii Fit does not work and is a fad. His evidence? Kotaku's Brian Crecente.

Malstrom called BS on this:

Then came the backlash. Several guys (Wii Fit owners) e-mailed and commented on Yahoo and Kotaku saying that the article had nothing to do with reality.

Crecente was very reluctant to admit he was wrong:

Yahoo had to write a new article showing how Wii Fit may work - this time using evidence from real users:

But Kotaku never learn ...

But I have posted about him in the past.

Basically anyone can be a game journalist now a days or say they are with the internet. That is why I don't even bother reading most articles online or even magazines now. There has been hate against Nintendo since about the time PS1 came out. The old video game magazines around the time started covering less and less Nintendo and it just accelerated during the GCN era. I am glad to see a lot of shitty video game magazines die off or just go online and out of sight. I'd rather just read Nintendo Power (which I don't subscribe to anymore). Next Generation was probably the best video game magazine ever produced. It didn't cover Nintendo as much as I wanted them to but I still enjoyed that magazine a lot back in the day. There will always be people that try to misreport the facts or bend the truth to favor whatever system they like. Lets just be glad the video game industry is still doing decently and didn't crash like in 1980s. Although I wouldn't mind seeing it crash again and Nintendo be the only one left. I hate Microsoft and Sony but they do serve as competition which keeps Nintendo on it's heels... Anyways I am done with my ranting.

oh wow, why isn't this an article? Seriously this should get some Diggs.
