Forums - Sales - FFXIII first day sales prediction

Hmm... I see it falling a tad shy of 1m on the first day, so I'm going to say:

Day 1- 950K
Week 1- 1.2M
Life (JP)- 1.7M

@Farmland and Dobby Did you read my earlier post? At this point preorders alone are looking likely to hit at least 1 million so that should be the absolute low-ball estimate for first day and 1.2 million for first week.

Source, and it better not be retail pre-orders... So many people have fallen for that on this site in the last few years.

No specific source. Extrapolated from ioi's comment here:

And Source's comment in the Japan Preview from a few weeks ago. I don't remember which one it was, I can't seem to find it now, but he said that FF games usually have a 75% preorders to first week sales ratio. Also as of 2 weeks ago the Japan preview had 13 preorders over 675k, up 75k from the week before. Source didn't include 13 preorders in the preview this week for some reason. So 2 weeks ago with 4 weeks till launch it would only need to average 81-82k preorders per week to reach a million.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Interesting. If it hits themillion mark we could be looking at something like 1.25 million then taking that 75% into account?

Anyway until we see a concrete source for consumer pre-orders its just speculation. Let my just say that I low ball pretty much all of the prediction on purpose. Keeps me plesently surprised most of the time instead of being annoyed at why games are doing worse then I thought they would.
