If you're happy with the original and would prefer if it had ended there, just simply skip the sequel/tv series.

I don't understand why people are bothered by the milking of series'. Sure, the resources could likely be used, often times more wisely, elsewhere but that never seems to be what people are complaining about.

I mean, it's not as if Zombieland will be of any less quality now that it is supposedly getting a cash-in sequel. If it's not for you - skip it.

Because plot points brought up directly effect the original.

Spoilers for the FF7 Series

Take FF7 for example, it was thought that Cloud eventually reached Sephiroth's level at the end and defeated him soundly (there was a huge cut scene at the end of the game and everything), then we find out, no Sephiroth was only thrown into the life stream, was just playing around with Cloud the entire game and duration of the fight in the Advent Children movie, and can come back so long as Cloud remembers his existence according to some interviews.... >_>;

As you can see, the entire core values of the original that made it so good were shot... repeatedly... with machine guns...

Same thing with the movies I brought up in my first post. The whole original themes are just spit on and forgotten for more money making. It's just irritating to find a series you enjoy only for the creators to get greedy and try to make money off of it.

As I mentioned in my previous post... If you don't care for sequels, simply do not play/watch them. No one is forcing you to enjoy them, however, some actually may.

As a similar example, take Final Fantasy IV. Fantastic game. My favourite of all time. I've played the After Years, and no, it's simply not the same. Not the same creators. The characterization is daft. Do I allow it to conflict with my memories/feelings of the original? No. I'd be taking it far too serious if I had.

I actually enjoyed playing through the After Years. Exploring the world again in a different context and getting to play as the characters again. Sure, the story was pretty bad and paled in comparison to the original, but just take it for what it is.

Um... I guess it's my fault for being unclear... Dark Knight was an excellent film, sure, and Heath Ledger did an upstanding job, but the sequel to the Dark Knight is by all rights sure to fail because the Director wrote Joker in with the INTENT to use him again in the sequel film of the Dark Knight, obviously that's not possible anymore. And there has been talk of finding a replacement actor... >_>; Anyway, back to the original point, The Dark Knight is still just one gem out of tons of garbage, and while the Dark Knight was well-crafted, many sequels are not and only exist for the sole purpose of making more money... so... it still spells doom for Zombieland, I'm particularly annoyed with the fact they CLEARLY intend on milking it due to the talks about a TV series.

This is horrible! They're even thinking of making a TV series! Dx

Great, just freaking great, a bunch of stupid wannabe comedic quotes, *insert obligatory Black and Hispanic characters to not look "racist" because 'modern-day' TV laws require it*, and they're making a 3D movie sequel before that. :/

They're just going to milk the series dry, the same garbage happened with the Spider-man movies, the X-men movies, Pirates of the Carribbean, Saw movies, etc.

Just another franchise that started off good and went sour as it went on. JUST FREAKING FANTASTIC. Ugh..

You know what? Forget movies, I hate them all now. Every single movie in existence is garbage to me now. Just a hollywood cow fest.

WHY couldn't it have just stayed stand-alone? Like all GOOD movies like Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby?

Oh, just forget it. My hope for the movie industry is over.

You could, you know, just not watch the series.

oh noes! post above mine broke the forumz!

What are you talking about...

Spider-man 2 was the best of the series.
X-men 2 was the best of the series.
Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest was the best of the series.

Zombieland 2 ftw!

If you don't watch the TV series, it doesn't ruin the movie for you.  How does it really affect your enjoyment of the TV series if they insert zany things during the timeline of the movie or reveal things that are a bit...off?

If you don't watch the series, it doesn't.  fucking.  matter.  Zombieland is something that will never ever ever ever ever see a sequal unless the TV series actually does well.  In that case, since it would likely be a movie based on the TV series then don't see the damn movie.

Simple concept.

Zombieland 2 ftw!

I disagree with each of those.

I thought each of the choices were each the worst in each series.

Did you not see Spider-Man 3 and the pile of shit that was X-Men 3?

Well, in general, people prefered Spider-man 2 and X-Men 2. They were simply better.

And it's highly possible that your favorite Pirates is the first.

Yes, the first Pirates was my favorite.

Honestly, I just found Spiderman 2 to be very boring.
