Forums - Gaming - Ninja Gaiden on motion controls?

I was just wondering what motion control would be best for games like Ninja Gaiden.

Natal , Sony wands or Wii's controls?

Natal:You would need to wall rush in your own room?

Wand:You could use wands as a sword?

Wii:Dunno what it does!

It would be total chaos. So I'm interested how they start making these kind of games to motion controls next year.

I never played the DS version of Ninja Gaiden, but you could start there for guidance on how it would work with a pointer.

Natal doesn't have a pointer AFAIK, so it would have to be something very different. Frankly I don't think it would work with Natal. They would need to have movement controls as well as all the moves, two arms and two legs doesn't seem enough for all that.

While I think some games could work well for motion controls, even up to something like Zone of Enders, I don't think Ninja Gaiden would work well. Part of the reason the game is so good is because it uses precise button combination like a 3D fighter, but in a 3D action game environment.

If you altered that to focus on motion controls, the entire structure of gameplay would have to be changed as the interface is now changed. And in my personal opinion, you wouldn't have the ability to have a game focused on combos and intense timing focusing on motion based controls, much like you couldn't have a fighter focusing on motion based controls.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

But if motion controls become standart can we say goodbye to these kind of games?

Why? If it works on the DS, it can certainly work on the Wii even without using the classic controller as MH3 does.

On the PS3 and 360, motion controls will also be optional, and the same is probably going to be the case next gen.

Don't worry, those games are not going to disappear anytime soon.
