I still think the "flying" thing was about the next handheld Zelda, and he didn't say he was "inspired to do it because of his kid", he said his kid took a guess that it would happen, and that if many people have many predictions, some may come true.
Anyway, I don't think Zelda's world can be too technological. A train is the borderline already, and it's only ok if the train is it's own thing, I mean, as long as the world itself doesn't feel like 19th century.
