Forums - General - Switzerland bans minarets.

I am all for the Swiss vote.

Islam is an untolerant religion. In muslim countries your aren't allowed to build new churces, and it's because of islam. We are far more tolerant, but simply as a reaction against muslim intolerans, we must not allow any new mosques in the West.

Then of course this is about the minaret as a symbol, and it's a protest by European people against mass immigration into Europe, from Islamic countries in particular.

for once slimbeast im with you

someone was saying that they woudnt let this happen to churches, well perhaops thats because christianity is the main religon ,i mean perhaps if in islamic ocuntry they were abiing minarets then yeah but in a perdominatantly christina country of course there not ogin to have a ban against bell towers. In england  you have muslims arriving here and then saying that sharia law should be made law.Sorry but you dont go to a ocuntry and then change their rules,if you dont  like then go back home. Our traditions and culture are being placed below theres and that is simply not right

All this tolerance and wussyness does no good whatsoever. It only teaches foreigners to become more arrogant and demanding. Give them something and they'll just demand more. And all of a sudden the natives are the oppressed miniority and the old culture is gone. History has shown this time and time and time again.

I can't understand how all you saints are unable to see it.

America is going to be a majority Latino country in a few decades and I don't see this country's culture falling apart at the seams. In fact, we're already coming close to a non-majority culture already... some states like California already are that way.

I don't see anyone rioting in the streets of Los Angeles... unless the Lakers win a championship, that is.

First of all, the USA is nothing to strive for, from a European perspective. You're a melting pot, and got already big problems with sub-cultures and minorities. The atmosphere in the US big cities is nothing to strive for, with neighborhoods that are unsafe for white people to visit.

But you were built on the concept of immigration, so it's different. You are a lot more adapted to it. You are a lot better at integrating other cultures. And luckily you have a very strong and protective Police.

Second, Latinos aren't moslems.

....You don't have to answer my question anymore, silmebeast.

It's shocking to see some peoples' true colors come out in threads like these.

And I bet you that not everybody is showing their true colours off, since it's not so easy (for everyone) to post when you know that the rest of the users are going to be against you.

Err, where has history taught us this?

In Kosovo for example, slavs vs muslims. The Indians in S America vs the Spanish. Indians in N America vs the English. The Tutsis vs Hutus in Rwanda.

I was going to ignore this conversation except for a few quips, but this right here is giving me a headache.

To clarify, are you actually comparing "tolerance and wussiness" with how the natives treated the conquistadors and the English in the Americas?

Yes, those natives were tolerant and got wiped out.

This is very common. The holier than though, "you are not worthy to discuss with" -attitude. Such a cheap cliché.

I already said that the same way they ask for "tolerance", they are intolerant towards anything foreign to their own culture.

I know Christian women that are living in Muslim countries, and they must use the veil.

You showed your true colors as well by defending the French suburb rioters.

Obviously you guys all have different opinions, and I understand that, but can you please refrain from actually attacking any religion? This is not the place for any kind of ignorant hate-speech. Religions is a touchy subject and I think we should all bear that in mind when coming into a thread like this. Thanks.

Jesus Christ.....All the people on VgChartz scream about the idea of having a good scoialit democracy and then when one decision gets voted on by the majority living in the country that they don't like they start screming.

If the majority of people in that country don't want minerets, then whats the problem?

People are lawys going to cry about political decisions, democracy is the way forward.....and the Swiss have made their decision.
