He also had the Bond voice down perfectly. No actor has managed to emulate his voice, the sense of control he had over any situation even when things weren't going his way. 2. Daniel Craig practically revived the Bond series when it came to quality. It always made tons of money, so it didn't really need a box office revival, but the whole series definitely needed a boot up the ass, and Daniel Craig gave it brilliantly. I thought that both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were brilliant, and even though he seemed a bit too angry at times in QoS, his performance was fantastic. 3. George Lazenby. He wasn't the best actor ever, but he portrayed the ass-kicking side of Bond very well. And if he had continued his career, he probably could have been one of the best actors to play Bond. 4. Timothy Dalton often seemed to take the silly fun out of Bond films. Action is good, but I want to have a nice laugh. No time for that with Dalton. Add that to the fact that neither of his films REALLY impressed me, and I was left wanting more. 5. Pierce Brosnan was a mixed bag. As I see it, there are three pillars of Bond's personality: The tough guy, the witty guy, and the ladies man. Brosnan was terrible at being tough, alright at being witty, and great at being a ladies man. Altogether, he rounded out to be fairly average. 6. Roger Moore. My God he was bad. I don't even need to go into much depth, he was just the reason that the movies were so bad for so long. I mean, cmon. Octopussy? Most of his movies were a joke, and he had one decent performance out of eight whole films. Not to mention that I couldn't take him seriously as Bond. The "creepy uncle" moniker is timeless with him. |
I am disappointed.
I know how much you despise Roger Moore from our discussions and was expecting much more about this from you.
