Forums - Gaming - buyers remorse

For a brief time I regretted buying my PS3. My first two games were Uncharted and KZ2: Uncharted took a couple of times playing with it, before I really appreciated it, and I think I let hype make me expect more more from KZ2 then it was able to deliver.

Valkyria Chronicles stopped that feeling though, and since then I've really come to appreciate Uncharted. IF Dragon Age and MW2 hadn't come out recently, I would've finished Uncharted and bought Uncharted 2 by now.

buying and the HD DVD and 5 discs for 249 when its sold for 50 on ebay or amazon is one of the worest remorses i ever had i always feel sad about that atleast once a week expecailly when i see my HD DVD player

System, never. I either get what I want, or at least get it (360) at a good deal that I can't regret it.

Maybe some games, but that is usually more a regret that I don't have time to play them and then forget to finish them... I probably get at least 80% of games used, or after they dropped in price, or some sort of sale (such as buy 2 get 1 free). Less to regret when I get a good deal on a game...

one of th happiest moments when buying a product was halo wars fable 2 and halo 3, halo 3 odst, GTA IV, shadow complex xbox 360. xbox 360 and halo 3 with it was when i really felt like ending my gaming haitus since 2002 and when i went online and stayed countless nights with a 64 kbp connection trying to just play online without carring for the lag, also halo 3 odst cause it brought back the magic of halo CE. Fable 2 had the rpg magic when i bought it was experiencing a magical world. GTA IV it was so exciting to go back to GTA vice city kind of play since i hated SA and it was the first genuine GTA game i ever bought, i played the rest with pirated versions, i was young so i didn't really know whats the difference between piracy and genuine. halo wars cause it brought back me wanting to play rts after C & C 3 disapointment.
shadow complex cause i felt alot of fun that was missing in arcade games from a long time. I still remeber and enjoy going back to halo 3 and fable 2.

I've had plenty of buyers remorse, i'll list some of them off

1. PS3 - Yes, you read that right. I wish I hadn't bough a PS3 when I did. I first bought my 60gb PS3 in March 07. It was $600 and the only good games for it were Resistance and Oblivion until Late 2007. I should have waited until either the price drop to $400 or the $299 slim.

2. Gears of War 2 - I hated the first one, Don't know why I bought the second one. Played it for 2 weeks then traded it in

3. Metal Gear Solid 4 - I thought I would give the MGS series a go for the first time. I'll just say I didn't get into it.

I'm sure there's some more games to add but that's about it.

I am so sad for buying some stuff without htinking about price and value

I have quite a bit of this. I had a PS3 for awhile, and while I liked it, I began to feel increasingly guilty that I paid 400$ for a video game system when I already had a Wii that I like. So I resold it on Ebay for about 90% of what I paid.
As for games, I recently did the buy 2 get the 3rd free thing with a Toys R Us Sale and got 3 DS games, Scribblenauts, Mario and Luigi 3, and The Legendary Starfy. Scribblenauts is the only one I like. For Wii games, I really like platformers, so I had high hopes for both Wario Land: Shake It, and de Blob, the presentation in both was very good, but I did not enjoy the gameplay and sold them both.
I'm sure there are a lot of other times I've done that, but those are the ones I thought of off the top of my head.

Nope

I have a bit of buyers remorse for ps3. I got a good deal on it and thought I would love it after playing ps and ps2 last 2 gens. But after playing and finishing the 3 bundle games, I can't buy any more games because I spent all my money buying the system, and now I just don't play it anymore. And I just like playing wii more. I regret buying it because there are so many wii games I want to get but can't afford it, and I could have spent the money I used on the ps3 to buy a bunch of the wii games I want. I keep thinking of selling my ps3, but then I think I'll regret it later, so I don't.

For the PS3 the only games I regret buying are Mirrors Edge (bought it because it looked different but just didn't enjoy it at all) and Fat Princess.

I would say I'm dissapointed in the PSP, although I don't quite regret buying it as I would have got one just for FF:Crisis Core and FF:Agito but I regret many of the games I bought. The only games I seem  to enjoy on the system are RPG's (FF:War of the Lions, Disgaea 1 and Tales of Eternia are all fantastic) but everything else I have been very dissapointed with (Resistance, Dissidia, Monster Hunter) so think I will just buy the former from now on (and maybe LBP).

I also regret not buying almost all the great games on PS1 and PS2 as I didn't know they existed until I found this forum, luckily I won't be making that mistake this time round!
