Nintendo unveils all-star marketing campaign

Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton among the celebrities lined up to promote DS titles

Nintendo’s new Touch! Generations ads are to feature six well-known stars of stage and screen as the platform holder continues its push into mainstream consciousness.

Alongside This Morning duo Phil and Fern, Julie Walters, Patrick Stewart, Zoe Ball and Johnny Ball will feature in the new outdoor, print and TV campaign, which kicks off today and will promote the likes of Brain Training, Big Brain Academy, Tetris DS and My Word Coach.

They join the likes of Nicole Kidman, Ian Wright, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Chris Tarrant in promoting Nintendo's hardware and software offering.

Marketing Director at Nintendo UK Dawn Paine said of the new campaign: “Our Touch! Generations titles have really struck a chord with people across the UK who want to train their brains, help to exercise their eyes or simply play Sudoku. As renowned and respected actors and presenters, who better to demonstrate the benefits and fun of Touch! Generations software.”

SSJ, you're 19. You should know who Captain Picard is. He also played professor X in the X-men movies.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

I used to love watching Johnny ball on TV as a kid, how ironic that many years later I would also loved to have shagged his daughter Zoe Ball!

Patrick Stewart rules.

Make it so.

edit: haha, we were both thinking the same thing. Fazz beat me.

You know, Nintendo UK has really done a much better job at promoting the DS than NoA. I can't think of a single memorable DS ad in the USA.

Come to think of it.  I can't even think of a DS add i've seen.  The PSP adds are annoying but atleast you remember them.
