Forums - Sony - Does it always take long to get a MAG game started?

Thank god I got into the beta, I was seriously considering buying this game. That would have been a big mistake.

Glad some people like it though, buy it and get it at least a million sales! Thanks.

While I never had any intention of buying it right when it comes out, I was planning on renting it. My plan remains unchanged, but unless there have been some big improvements by the time the game is released, I'll probably stick with a rental and that's it.

There's some potential though as all the crap going on in a 256 player battle is pretty intense. I still see myself being more interested in what DICE does with Battlefield 3.

256 players is just a gimmick that gave the game attention. It's really many 8v8 battles in ridiculously small areas.

I was much more impressed with the Bad Company 2 beta.

I think it depends more on what side your on and where the spawn poitns are. Early on I would agree, but if the attackers can push forward then I disagree.

For the max player count, I do kind of agree. It's practically all infantry only outside of being in an APC or bunker (from what I've seen, please correct me if I'm wrong). Outside of something like a parachute drop, there doesn't seem to be much else. That is why I said that there is potential there and why I'm still more interested in Battlefield (even if similar problems like clusters of infantry in contested areas and spamming exist there too).

It is a bunch of small localized battles because well, people are still learning to play as a large group. Basically theyre doing it wrong. Once we get more established clans and officers, we will start seeing more sophistocated manuevers.

Some people in many squads even get all high and might about how " our squad needs to goto A not B cause thats how its supposed to be" When in reality, attackers should take initiative and mass up to easily overwhelm some objectives and move on to the next... which will work until the defenders get organized and respond in like fashion...

I have seen some games play out in interesting ways, but during beta it still happens most of the time that people just rush the objective in front of them and do the "lots of small battles" thing. But I have seen enough interesting fights to think that once retail hits and organizede groups start getting the macro game down, interesting fights will become the norm.
