^Test is lets throw garbage onto the Wii, if it sells great, if not, at least we can say we tried and the Wii market doesn't have a big enough core gamers.

It wouldn't sell, if their games on the Wii suck, you really think a graphical upgrade will imporve them? No they are done to placate the investors who want to see more Wii games.

Actaully there is huge demand for high quality, look at Nintendo game sales on Wii

Throwing garbage on the Wii is not a test. Its common practice that's proven to be very lucrative.

When I look at the top selling Wii games. I mostly see long running Nintendo franchises, party games, edutainment, just a couple mega popular franchises that have seen better sales on other consoles, and licensed crap that appeals to kids. While people do buy high quality Nintendo games. There are plenty of great 3rd party Wii games that go ignored and if they sell its mostly due to the bargain bin.

You seem to have missed my point about the Wii HD. The PS3 and 360 share most of their library because of similar specs. If the Wii HD had specs similar to the 360 or PS3, it would definitely receive many of the games we see on the 360 and PS3 and they will be EQUAL QUALITY. Obviously I don't want to see the typical Wii shovelware with improved graphics. Keep that crap the old Wii and make the Wii HD backwards compatible.

No, because Wii HD wouldn't have any install base starting out, it would be at zero, and most people who wanted those games would already own a PS3 or 360.

If they are buying Wii games which are high quality, then they want quality, there is something wrong with the third party titels if they can't sell, not because of the Wii consumers.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

There will be future HD titles. Not everything on the Wii HD has to be old. But if they wanted to port old HD games to the Wii HD, it would be easier, cheaper, and superior than developing them especially for the Wii.

Personally I think there is a huge demand for Nintendo games. If Nintendo made it, there's automatically demand. Especially if its one of their long running franchises. 3rd party developers have delivered quality games. Yet low budget cliche titles for Wii seem to perform much better.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is bombing big time in Japan. Japan is the the bread and butter of that series as well. All excuses aside, the Wii is an unpredictable audience.

"Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is bombing big time in Japan."

Games don't bomb in a region. Bombing is not making money period. Right now it just had a low opening, and it's too soon to say the final result.

"Japan is the the bread and butter of that series as well."

Do some damn research. This site shows the series gets a lot of sales all around, not just in Japan.

"All excuses aside,"

You don't get much credibility with that when you are twisting facts to make it look that way.

future HD games would go to the consoles with the established HD audiences, not to the Wii, or more test games would go, and once they flopped, no more would come.

No, because quality third party titles, like resident evil 4 Wii have sold, the ones that haven't were either not as quality, or were too niche

Are we arguing semantics? Either way its doing bad.

Japan moves the most software for the series. Sometimes considerably more.

Okay, now you're just presuming it would all bomb. I guess it doesn't matter the quality, they just don't want it.

Resident Evil 4 is from a mega popular franchise and it was also an early title for the Wii. Quality aside people tend to buy what they recognize. Also its a Gamecube game so porting it was an easy low risk endeavor that paid off greatly.

^When you start with zero base, of course games will bomb, whose going to buy it?

Perhaps, but there are plenty of popular franchises that could be brought to Wii and pay off greatly, this is part of what Wii owners are saying when they say third parties aren't bringing their big games to Wii, the popular franchises aren't on Wii, or if they are its the leftover garbage port

This is what the long time gamers like you that purchased a Wii are saying.

I don't think you can state that this is what the Wii customer base at large is saying without any proof of this...

Like I already said hundred times. You are not the Blue Ocean, you do not represent the majority of the Wii owners...

One example : Nintendo recently revealed that 80% of the female gamers in the US have a Wii. Are the traditional franchises targeted at females ? Not really...

Another example : Third party title represent 60% of so of the software sales on the Wii, yet you told us you only bought 3 third party title, that is not representative !

Stop acting all the time like you are representative of the majority of the Wii users, you are not !!!!!!!!!!

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

That "zero userbase" would grow. If there was a Wii HD it could retain the audience of the current Wii through backwards compatibility, take a share of the current HD userbase, and get new fans through people who still haven't purchased any current gen console.

The problem is bringing HD games to the Wii isn't as easy or cheap as porting a Gamecube game to the Wii. Resident Evil 4 only had to sell a small amount to make a profit. Building quality games especially for the Wii would have to sell far more and that's a risk. Eitherway, most of the 3rd party software sales come from party games, exercise games, licensed kids games, and other wacky stuff like that. So why bring quality expensive games when we know they're likely to buy that stuff instead?

Anyhow, the point is porting games to a console of equal or superior specs as the current HD consoles is easier and cheaper than porting games to the current Wii.

"Are we arguing semantics? Either way its doing bad."

No, you claiming it is is not that. And considering the last Wii retail release of the series, it's doing a lot better than it could.

"Japan moves the most software for the series."

You obviously aren't doing any research. That only applies to the DS games, not the home console games. The US leads in those.
