The thing I love about the beatles is that thier songs are simple for playing and singing but are still masterpeices, seems like they found the perfect combination of notes to appeal to our feelings, they are also a great choice for live performances.

Some of their songs are simple, but later on (specifically on the white album) there are some very complicated arrangements, that's where the bands real genius shows itself, their ability to arrange the songs.

Around the Network

Hey Jude, Taxman, Revolution, Back in the USSR and Eight Days a Week

@zexen_lowe all in what you like I guess, I actually find the three George Harrison songs (Including Love You To) to be some of the strongest on the album, and some of his best work. And Tomorrow Never Knows I feel is an excellent song.

Well, if I had to rank all the songs of the album in order, it would be for me

1. Eleanor Rigby (aka best song ever)
2. And Your Bird Can Sing
3. Got to Get You Into My Life
4. Yellow Submarine
5. She Said She Said
6. Good Day Sunshine
7. Dr. Robert
8. I'm Only Sleeping
9. I Want to Tell You
10. For No One
11. Taxman
12. Here There and Everywhere
13. Love You To
14. Tomorrow Never Knows (weird experiment that in my opinion doesn't sound well, at least I can listen to it fine, unlike the fucked up mess that's Revolution 9)

But as I said, it's still and excellent album, with a great array of songs

Yeah, I wasnt saying it as a bad thing anyway, the thing is that they were genious in composition, and they could make great songs even if john lennon wasnt the best singer, or harrison the best with the guitar, their music is epic, especially their last works.

lol, you must just not like George Harrison's work, cause his 3 songs are all ranked 9th or lower.

I do like Harrison (heck, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Here Comes the Sun are among my very fav Beatles songs), but sometimes he had a penchant for boring songs (*cough* Blue Jay Way *cough*). Still, he was an amazing guitarist

@zexen_lowe: I've always considered Taxman his best song.

Almost finished my Revolver playthrough, next up, Sgt Peppers

Good song. It has an excellent guitar track, but the vocal part isn't completely to my liking

I just think the arrangement is very unique. Harrison always had his own sound, where as the Lennon/McCartney/Starr songs all had a similar sound.
