You forgot to mention 8 times the RAM.
As this thread demonstrates, the power of the hardware isn't really the issue. It's the software development. A fair chunk of the iPhone's might is eaten up by the OS, and for now, software isn't being designed for the beefy 3GS but the weaker 2G and 3G models. Furthermore, developers simply aren't as experienced with the hardware, nor as inclined to optimize their code as PSP developers. iPhone games also suffer from the same "push it out now, patch it later" syndrome that PC games exhibit.
On the other hand, games tend to cost 75-95% less than PSP counterparts, so the lack of polish isn't too bothersome.

funny how NiKKoM showed the best looking iphone games and the worst looking psp games and yet those psp games look better(except NFS but that was a bad game on all platforms) than those simillar iphone titles XD Ace Combat on psp still looks better than all those iphone games you listed. show me a game that is as good as God of War, Resistance Retribution, Vice City Stories or even Soul Calibur.
show me a racing game that looks as good as Ridge Racer which was a launch title for psp. heck, show me racing game that looks as good as Burnout Legends that looks like ass on psp. i won't even go into gameplay aspects cause those slaughters every iphone game. the fact that those few best games from iphone can only be sold on psp as a uber budget titles on psp minis store means a lot.
BTW this is the best fighting game on iphone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUx6f6BXFks
(gameplay from psp minis port). iphone games are soooooomuch better. LMAO
John Carmack said the iPhone hardware was more capable than the PSP hardware ages ago. This new iPhone upgrade then should be capable to really show it. Maybe.

anyone who says that the psp has good controls is fooling himself
it has the worst controls of any gaming device..
how is poosible to not be able to play with dual analogs these days?
even with the psp go they made the same mistake...
with ds-iphone at least you can somewhat imitate the 2nd analog via touchscreen
psp is dead accept it..
ipod is on the rise and the ds will stay on top because it has its loyal fanbase (including me)
but don't live in denial
ipod/iphone is here to stay and it's an amazing device and also is sure that it will get physical controls sooner than you think..

Would it be against the forum rules if I told you how very fitting your profile pic is?

Spec-wise, the iPhone annihilates the PSP. But, due to OS size, developer budgets, and platform time on the market (remember that the App Store released only ~15 months ago), the iPhone lags graphically behind the PSP and will for quite some time. In the future, will a developer spend the money and try to graphically compete with a PSP game? Who knows. Does it really matter? I doubt it.

I was under the impression that the original 3G was similarly spec to the PSP. The lack a real stick is frustrating, but the lack of a second stick on the PSP is just as unforgivable. Both IMHO are fairly ill-conceived as gaming devices. Of course Apple wasn't really making a gaming device in the first place.
