I think that's none of those. Final Fantasy games have a history of not having a so very obvious enemy or force behind them.

Probably some force hidden in Pulse.

Well, i really don't care about spoilers anymore.

When I memorized all the walkthrough of FFX before I played it because my mom didn't have money to buy a ps2 to me at time, i played it 2003.

Anyway, i think the main villain this time won't be human(near sure). Since FFXIII has a Matrix feeling in it we can expect the villain to be some kind of god.

I have a feeling that the final boss in this game is a Gestalt of some sorts.

I mean, it makes sense, since they are focusing so much on the Character - Gestalt relationship, plus the Gestalt mega brawl at the end of the final trailer makes me think that there are going to be even more epic Gestalt scenes in the game.
