I'm part of the 'older crowd' and plenty of their games appeal to me!
Also, my granma was quite fond of zelda (before dying of a heart attack one unfortunate afternoon when I tried to to get her hooked on GTA4!)

Correct, though SK was 2nd party for Nintendo during the GC, at least at the time of Eternal Darkness, which means that the IP was a Nintendo IP that SK was put on for development. Sort of like how Retro makes Metroid Prime, but Nintendo owns the IP |
Nintendo also owned a (minority) stake in SK back then. Nintendo owns Retro 100% though, they're as much "Nintendo" as Naughty Dog or Polyphony are "Sony".

True, Im just talking about the time point of the original Metroid Prime. Nintendo didnt buy them up right away, not until they started having financial hardships

Yeah, they bought them partway through Prime 1's development. Nintendo fronted the capital to start them up though.

Except Retro is also owned by Nintendo.
That is unless you are talking exclusively about the first prime.
Fatal Frame...I swear Nintendo owns the IP now

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

It doesn't count because it isn't "made" by Nintendo supposedly. :P
