The thought of more than 500 scares me.
I really love the series though and I can't wait for Soul Silver and Heart Gold to come out~

i think it is burmy of pineco.... it took me a while to do it my self but i got a few shiney pokemans.... i hate those.

No, each new generation of Pokemon was released on the new handheld. So the 5th Generation games are going to be on the DS' successor (the rumored handheld that has the NVIDIA graphics card that is powering it). GameFreak is already at work on planning the games with the characters and such (that's a given). Why do you think awhile back that GameFreak had a hiring advertisement for a 3D animator/designer? It's because they probably want to start at work with the next (5th) Generation and possibly have those games come out when the new system is released. I don't think they would want to waste time like with all the spin-offs we got after Emerald to Diamond and Pearl.

Mewtwo with Aura Sphere whipes Slaking out due to Slakings very low Special Defense. Mewtwo can also learn Signal Beam to deal with Dark-types now. Psychic is there for STAB. Plus you can use Shadow Ball/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt for the third slot. Mewtwo is faster than Darkrai by 10 base points in speed. It can use either Aura Sphere (I'd use that) or Signal Beam to KO Darkrai.

I have a Shiny:
Milotic (LEGIT, caught it as a Feebas while hunting for them in Ruby)
Arbok (FireRed)
Swellow (Sapphire)
Staraptor (Platinum)
I can easily clone the Milotic, Arbok, and Swellow via Emerald 
Mewtwo can't KO Darkrai in one hit (maybe with a critical it can). Trust me I've had this fight before. Darkrai > Mewtwo.
