That is funny seeing the first thing you did was come check this thread and make another post on it. I guess that proves you were not thinking about it.

 LMAO!

You are truly a religious nut.  1+2=3 does it?

Apparently as soon as I woke up I rushed to see what you had to say next. It surely had nothing to do with the fact that every time I log on I check all the threads I have posted in recently (a feature on the left side of the page btw). Nope this time was magically special..I came just to see what you said...

Oh you truly have me pegged.  Please help me save my soul!

But seriously now, isn't being a self-important bible-thumper a sin?  Cause it should be! I know thatsmy idea of hell anyways, so it would make sense to send you..err "them" there.

PS - I especially love the part where you tried to make it like posting here shows that people think you are right.  It couldn't possibly mean that we disagree with you!  No, your right people don't disagree on forums.  I'll have to remember this next time I have an argument..clearly when they post a responce it means they were cut by my words and only returned to seak my guidance....haha good stuff.   I just wonder how long it would take for me to actually delude myself into believing that..you sir are devoted!

Most of what I'd like to say has already been said, but to further discredit Ken Ham, I'll post this.

Do you hear that, Mister Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability.

ugh I am tired of this religious crud. why is it that religious people always seem to look down on atheists because they have nothing to look for, while all i hear from Christians and other religions is that "we are sinners, no one is good, you're going to hell." that doesn't sound like a fun life to live. I don't want to live a life following a book that only seems to put you down and tell you how utterly pathetic and doomed you are.

i don't know if I am good person or not, but I sure as hell won't base it on this test. I'm gonna live my life how I see fit and i don't people like you telling me I need to turn to Jesus or w/e the hell else. Here is a nice quote for btw:

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
- Stephen Roberts

No offense to US citizens, but this is not typical for Christian thinking; American churches tend to be fundamentalistic like that.
I wouldn't call myself a religious person at all, but I was baptized and confirmed (protestant), then I went to a roman-catholic high school. Trust me, here in Germany church is NOTHING like that.

I found it absolutely hilarious when that website told me that I'm going to go to hell for thinking that god will forgive our sins... did they even read the new testament? Citing the old testament in a menacing voice is stupid, it's not to be taken literally!

no offense taken. I am glad to hear that it is different in Germany.

To be fair, most religious people in America are not like that either; however, there is a large minority that feels the need to thrust their religion onto other people, and obviously that's the image that everyone sees.

Taken from this article: http://www.godlessgeeks.com/WhyAtheism.htm

"Until just a couple of hundred years ago, most people thought that a god or gods controlled everything. Why did the wind blow? Why was there lightning and thunder? Why did the sun, moon, and stars apparently go around the Earth? Why did someone get sick and die? Why did anything happen? Well, obviously, God did it. If a person doesn’t know how something works or why something happened, they can say, “God did it.” This is known as the “god of the gaps,” or the “argument from ignorance,” and it is at the heart of the conflict between science and religion. Science looks for natural causes, while religion looks for supernatural causes. Science is steadily winning, because as we understand more and more about the universe, the gap where God might function grows smaller and smaller. Every time we learn more, God has less room to operate. When we learned what caused the sun to apparently move across the sky, there was no need for the Greek god Helios and his chariot. When we understood what caused lightning, there was no need for the Greek god Zeus, the Roman god Jupiter, or the Norse god Thor.

In fact, the understanding of lightning was one of the first areas of battle between science and Christianity. When Ben Franklin discovered that lightning was just a big electric spark, he invented the lightning rod. It was enormously successful at preventing buildings from being struck by lightning. However, this caused a bit of a conundrum for the church leaders; should they trust in their god to prevent lightning strikes on their churches, or should they use these new lightning rods? Up until then, lightning hit churches much more frequently than other, more “deserving” buildings — such as taverns or houses of ill repute. “Why was that?” they might have wondered. Could it be that churches had spires and were taller, or was it SATAN and his WITCHES? …… Actually, that is what they often believed, and many a supposed witch was executed for having caused the destruction of a church. When they started putting lightning rods on churches, witch killings stopped soon thereafter. However, the obvious fact is that they were putting their trust in science and lightning rods, not religion and prayer."
