Forums - General - ‘New Moon’ Shatters Opening Day Record

Well, I just got back. That has got to be the most uneventful 2 hours in the history of cinema.

Dude dumps girl. Girl spirals into depression until she finally decides to put herself out of her misery. She fails, but dude thinks she 's dead so he decides to kill himself too. Girl stops him. They get back together and then it's all back to where it started.

I think at some point early on the director realised how boring it was so they got the hawt werewolf to take off his shirt and never put it back on for the rest of the movie.

I can't believe a guy would want to direct that.
It must be just plain degrading for him.

The  movieis pretty good, way better then the first one, sure there are some bad lines but overall it a huge improvement, people really need to understand that this film is targeted at the female audience.

Like I said before New Moon is the "boring" boook out of them all.

Eclipse on the other hand, that is a movie(book) with alot promise.

Being targeted at females is not an excuse for poor writing. The book series is one gigantic Mary Sue story with no other redeeming qualities. The writing is sub-par, and the premise is uninteresting. There isn't even an original idea in there quite honestly. It just mixes and matches safe concepts into a story with a main character so generic it could be anybody, and that is what has created the fanbase.

To be fair, most movies have the issue of being borning at times when they are in a multiple story arc. Two Towers had its moments, too (of course, it was LOTR, so LOTR at it's most mediocre was still better than any book-to-movie created).

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Wow 1992 was such a tainted month, lucky I was born in 1993 where real men are born.

I guess not real intelligent men...........

What did 1993 produce anyway? Nothing notable............

My 2 brothers were born on 1993, they are both less inteligent than I xD and their friends arent as smart as mine were, worst grades and everything.

Anyway, in important people, Dakota Fanning was in 1993 or wasnt she?

Stupid childish , plotless crap. Stephanie Meiyer (SP? ) writes like a Pre pubescent teenage girl. She also insults her own audience and is condescending.

i heard from a male friend tomorrow that New Moon is actually pretty good. He said it was better than the first one, and the only thing that ruined the experience was the bunch of folk on either side of the cinema who kept shouting "Edward" and "Jacob" at each other

Lol, some people are really retarded.

So being for females means it needs to suck? I now Im a guy and fans say men dont understand shit about things that dont have violence, gore, etc... but there is a difference between a good and a bad movie, actually titanic was much better than the first twiligth, which is the one I saw.

And maybe you are right and men have better taste for movies than teenage girls.
