Forums - Gaming - oily analogue sticks?

so for some reason, my dual shock 3 will get oily every once in a while on the joy sticks. i have no clue why this happens, but the weird thing is it happens if i DONT PLAY for a while. ie. a couple of days.

for instance, played ps3 last sat, didnt play again till today (sat) and both joy sticks were oily as hell. it only happens on my one controller (ds3) and not my sixaxis ones (i only use the ds3 but others use the sixaxis). so i dont really understand wtf is going on. it like those bad boys are crying because of neglect.

Stop eating cheetos and chicken wings while you play...the oil will go away.

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

i dont eat anything when i game.... and i dunno if u read the OP, but i said it happens during INACTIVITY. my controller is clean as a whistle when its put away, i come back days later and its oily.

my Gamecube sticks do the same thing, and I wash and soap my hands before EVERY play session.

It happened to me once aswell, and I was like "wtf?" :S

It seems to happen to my controllers if I leave them on the windowsill, particularly when it's sunny.

Yeah, happened to me too sometimes with my DS2, never knew the cause

same....its some sort of conspiracy to make you play more and thus buy more games

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

Happens to me too, though again, I have no idea why.... And crap does seem to accumulate in the grooves in the side of the controller

Obviously elves are breaking in to your house and peeing on your controllers.
