Forums - Sony - PSN going to a subscription model?!?!

Until we get more information on this, it's hard to really know what they are talking about, but I find this to be VERY VERY interesting.  So, any ideas?

On slide 39 of the presentation, it states:

"New revenue stream from subscriptions"...this could be from Netflix, but I can't imagine it being much to warrant a bullet.

if psn goes the way of xbox live i will laugh.

There's another thread about this already, but I can sum it up for you to save you some time.

No.

Thank you..I'll be here all night. (no I won't)

I don't think Sony really gets anything per Netflix subscription.

Can you post a link to the thread...so...just "no" and no explanation?  Considering that DDC online is suppose to be free...I'm at a loss here.

There's one..and there's another one where a Sony exec addressed that issue specifically I believe but I'm too tired to look for it. I'd venture to say you can find it in the Sony forum..=P

On that note, I think I'm gonna crash..gnight!

It's a premium service option. Nothing changes for those who don't care about it and just want to play online and buy what they want from the store.

4 ≈ One

They've already stated that online gaming will be free. However, clearly Quore and premium themes, etc. have worked for them, and I suspect they're thinking of keeping just enough of PSN free to argue it's better value than Live (so that means free online gaming, etc) but look to introduce optional premium content in a more structured way via a subscription model.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

They should. Good for us and bad for them if they don't, though.
