Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony planning a subscription Fee?

Apparently online gaming is still free on psn but they are starting to create a subscription similar to xbl gold

or

What do you guys think, is this good choice by showing that psn still offers free online gaming, or widening the gap by going back on what they have said about free subscriptions?

It's optional for more services. For instance some TV channels or something.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

qore and mmos that are launching have montly fees .I think they are referring to that.

they have said many times that PSn will be free for this gen.

we'll lets hope so because psn being free might be good for us, but i can't imagine the execs of sony and the shareholders are too happy about the gaming division right now considering the recession and the fluctuating value of the dollar/yen. those guys might just want to see the short term profits brought in as quick as possible.

already posted man, just look, don't you think this type of topic would already have been posted

they can't start imposing a fee on PSN, they would have to completely redo the entire thing, and offer two levels, one free, and one not...and even then. Consumers don't like having to pay for something they have gotten for free for many years.

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

Like I've said before, its just a matter of time before Sony makes the transition of charging for online play. I say it will happen with their next gen console. Their price will be competitive of course.
