Forums - General - So who's going to be the European president?

Well tonight (early morning) we will know ^_^.Tony Blair?  Balkenende? Rompuy?

Word is Rompuy is in pole position and saw the UK media don't like it:

Bit harsh though =p.

The official term isn't president, right? I believe that name was mentioned in the European constitution, but not the Lissabon treaty.

And what's up with those UK boycots on Belgian politicians? I read in my newspaper that 2 ex-prime ministers of Belgium were refused for some (relatively) big EU posts, mainly because the UK didn't want it.

the Express?

im guessing inside, they compare him to Diana?

Belgian politicians are very pro-EU. Maybe to much for the UK government.

I was hoping for Tony Blair. If only because then i wouldn't have to research one of those other two guys.

Well their is a vid above your post of one of them.

Urgh, The Daily Express... The Daily Mail's inbred doppelgänger.
...

Anyway, my money would be on Tony Blair. If you ignore the wars he got us into, he was actually an extremely good leader. Of course this is from a UK perspective, so I am a little bias and not too familiar with the other potential leaders.

you would have to ignore more than just the wars...but you have a fair point, id like to see him in the role just to see the tories go into meltdown because of it

Tories? = Conservativs?
