Very doubtful. I think the only price gougers are M$.

Well if this is SCEE this will probably be Qore since I dont think they have that yet.
you pay 50$ for gold because MS hold servers for all multiplayer/coop games from all the publishers so you will be able to still play Modern Warfare 2 even when Xbox 4 will be released.
on ps3 publishers have to hold servers for their own games. so considering the fact that they also pay sony for transfer from psstore and sony receives fees from every item sold on psstore, this is weird.

I didnt think there were any dedicated servers, even from Microsoft, for the 360 and that everything was P2P.
Xbox live is free,Silver that is.
Will Sony start charging? Time will tell..

Exactly. M$ are price gouging people nothing more nothing less.

It is not holding just any servers is it waron, it is holding "dedicated servers"; something that is missed when you play games on live. p2p network versus dedicated servers...I will take dedicated servers any day. Not saying anything bad about live, because I used to pay for it last generation (original xbox); but this allows Sony to not have to foot the bill and upkeep when it comes to the server side of things (unless they are Sony hosted games obviously). I do think that giving customers "options" is better than having only one (paid you can play online and no online if you do not pay). So if multi-player is still going to be free, I will not be phased by this change.
I read the full article and PSN as we know it will remain free for now and in the future, only Qore for instance are the premium content..
Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous
Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5, Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

Well to be fair, it only comes out to about $4 a month for live, $3 if you can get a deal like I did, both of which is a fraction of what my internet monthy payment is. Plus the amount of content you get is quite impressive
