I like horizontal so that the vent doesn't get covered, and I don't like loading games vertically. But It shouldn't really matter, I know tons of people that keep it in both orientations and none seems to cause more problems than the other.

it doesn't matter ether way is fine. maybe there is a official test review out there somewhere and i haven't seen it but as much testing the X360 has undergone for the heat problems I've yet to see just 1 trusted web page where horizontal or vertical has any real impact. it might make someone feel better to have it one way, and that's fine but i don't think Microsoft would have spent a ton of extra money when they could have just said your better off placing it horizontal or vertical, and after all this time it would have surely came out by now, clearly showing there was a clear winner of horizontal VS vertical.
