What I want from Zelda right now isn't something radically new, I want something radically OLD. Going back to a series' roots has worked for Mario. Going back to basics did great for Wii Sports. So go back to the ideas of the original Zelda and expand on them, Nintendo. I want a massive and interesting world that's chock-full of things to do and places to explore, complimented with well-designed dungeons and fun-to-use items. Screw the cutscenes, screw the story, and let me make my own adventure.

Do it Nintendo. You know you want to!

They shouldn't screw the story. They should make it interactive and more rewarding to find. Do a Metroid Prime scanning type of thing.

AhA!
I told you all. This won't be out until 2011.

Majora's Mask played with the formula and it worked out wonderfully. Excited to see what they do...

What do you mean? Nothing even hinted toward a 2011 release in that article.

Hmmmmmmm

.....

...Nah I'm going to trust Aonuma on this one. When he's given free reign (Majora's Mask, lesser extent in Wind Waker) he does wonderful things.

I am very excited to see what he means.

Nintendo has already screwed Zelda up and while these change may be what the series needs I don't trust Nintendo to make the changes in the right direction.

The reason people loved Zelda is because the of the incredibly thought provoking, challenging and times frustrating puzzles. I never once got frustrated in WW or TP or any of the handheld games. I replayed OoT and MM and I certainly got frustrated, hella many times so it is not my skill as a player that has improved but the difficulty of the games themselves that has decreased. There are heart containers everywhere and enemies do less damage as well.

Point is, Nintendo needs to get back to the basics. Create puzzle Designs like the Water, spirit and shadow temple in OOT or pretty much anything in MM. Frustrate us and challenge us. Zelda is about proving you're a man of strength and a man of brains. Make it that again.

Yeah well they did that with Twilight Princess...c'mon man...time for a change...some of us are sick of nintendo rehashing the same old tricks... Some of us remember when they used to be innovators and wish those days'd return...

I mean how many remakes of 'A Link to the Past' and 'Ocarina of Time' do we really need???

I just hope that by 'going in a different direction' they don't mean something naff like, say, giving Link the ability to turn into a wolf creature.

Maybe you should change that to the reason why "I" like Zelda. If you go to the first and second games of the series you will see the puzzles were pretty simplistic. So that definitely isn't a standard.

If they add some sort of co-op in this someone is going to get shot
