This is like saying "Masturbation vs. Sex" or "Ford Model T vs. Lamborghini Gallardo" or "50 Cent vs. Tupac"
No contest, The Beatles.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Is someone in this thread actually saying that the Beatles' albums were... slapped together?
Oh, my. I dare you to listen through the entire White Album and then accuse it of being slapped together. It is one of the most subtle/sneaky albums ever created. Sheer genius.

The Beatles albums being "slapped together" is a particularly silly argument. When the Beatles were making music an album was often put together as a cohesive whole of sounds, where the individual songs were part of something bigger, an overall theme. Like the quoted said, listen to the White Album all the way through, it tells a compelling musical narrative almost like a long song with various parts. Albums these days are about getting that single buried far enough back to have the listener hear some of the other stuff in the hopes that another song gets popular enough for some airplay, to get another single. |
The White Album is really a classic example of the "anti-single" album. It has Back In The USSR, Dear Prudence, and a few of the Beatles' more modest hits but the album has 30 songs. Hell, the most recognizable song on the album, Revolution, isn't even included in its radio form.
With that said, it's probably my favorite album, despite lacking any of the band's mega-hits. Every song feels as if should be there. No filler, which is impressive for 30 songs.

Well Eminem isn't real music. She actually gaining fame around the world. Like I said, she is the first country singer in forever yo break into mainstream. If the beatles just debuted in 2009, nobody would play their music on the radio.. |
Uh, Shania Twain? You're being incredibly short-sighted with this argument. Shania broke through just a little over 10 years ago. That's hardly "forever".

Do you even like Revolution 9? I mean, I'm one of the Beatles' biggest fans, and I can't feel anything but hate about that "song", it's just annoying. I love the White Album nonetheless, I just always skip R9

I'm not big on Revolution 9 but I absolutely adore Revolution 1. It's far and away my favorite version of the song.
Back to Swift... She automatically loses this comparison because she'll never create a completely incomprehensible drug-fueled song like Strawberry Fields Forever yet still manage to make the song incredibly awesome. I'll never forget the moment I became a real Beatles' fan... I was 15 and heard Strawberry Fields Forever. Well over 30 years after its creation and I had never heard a song like it before. It blew my mind. I spent weeks shifting the balance on my stereo back and forth just to hear how they wove the different instruments together.

I can't even begin to explain how much I love Dear Prudence.

Are you dodging the facts on purpose to win this argument? She crossed over to mainstream |
I think you're ignoring the facts.
The United States is not the world and you are being very narrow-minded here. The fact that most people who don't live in the US here haven't even heard her terrible, grating, childish music is testament to that.

She did win a VMA for You Belong With Me. If the Beatles released unreleased music today and a video was made, I doubt they would even be nominated. |
Back when the Beatles were around videos didn't matter for two reasons.
1) They didn't exist.
2) People got by based on their musical merits more than thei looks.
Unfortunately, you probably do have a point. Since the birth of MTV music has steadily gotten worse because it's more about what the artists look like and not their music. A band like the Rolling Stones would have difficulty getting any sort of exposure at all in these times because they aren't the best looking group of guys. Taylor's cute as a button and this is why she's popular.
