Actually, Her first album sold over 4.5 million copies, and her second just pased 4.4 million....

FYI her first album has the longest run on the billboard charts with 156 weeks and counting.

Pink Floyds Dark side of the Moon stayed in the billboard top 200 for 741 weeks. Now that's impressive, it sold 45 million copies. It's an awesome album though.

That is extremely impressive, but Billboard is stupid and doesnt count anything before 1991 when Neilson/Sound Scan era began. Also Pink Floyds is a catalog album adn doesnt chart on the regular Billboard 200. Billboard has a lot of confusing rules

I believe Billboard has changed the ruling on catalogue albums now.

Taylor Swift is decent, but come on. The Beatles are The Beatles, they're untouchable.

The only bands that even come close to the beatles are the rolling stones, led zeppelin and maybe Pink Floyd.

I don't think any side is going to budge, we shouldn't be trying to convince one another

Seriously. I agree and I'm not trying to convince anyone at all.. So whatever. I'm just saying based on todays standards she is easily as popular as they were back in the 1960's and its now 2009.. Almost 40 years ago, music changes, everything changes.

I dont think anyone argued against that point, they have just been saying that the beatles are better than Taylor Swift

No, she is no where near as popular as the Beatles were back then. Not even close......

Nintendo still doomed?

Lady GaGa has imo become more influential of an artist when it comes to pop culture than Taylor Swift will ever be. And neither can even approach the Beetle's greatness.

Never even heard of Taylor Swift.... 1 sec Im gonna check him out on youtube.

... oh its a girl... and another generic pop song.

Lol, is this like the Jay Z is better than Elvis?

Ok, first, the beatles are the biggest band ever, the only artists that can compete are Elvis and MJ, but just in popularity since in music they beat both(even if MJ and Elvis were good too)

Second, Ive never heard of this Taylor Swift girl before kanie west(?)(didnt know about him either) and their show. Heard one of her songs and its crap.

Mariah Carrey sells a lot but her music is nothing special, hell, she is like Mc Donalds of music.(sucks but people eat there anyway)

Fourth, there are a lot of artists today that are more popular than that girl, even pop girls like britney or rihana(which suck too) and bands like U2, greenday, etc...

And there are a lot of artists that are better than her for that matter, you have keane, radiohead, muse,etc...

There is no way this girl will ever come close to what the beatles have done, I dont see that she can produce or innovate in music like the beatles did, or I dont see people in 50 years playing her songs or buyingher albums.
