Forums - Microsoft - CNET UK's games console reliability survey: 60 per cent of Xbox 360s have broken

Ironman, is that a Halo 3 brand condom in your avatar?
You know they always break, at least 60 percent of the time.

The wrapper says "finish the fuck" so of course, I make "master chief" finish before I withdrawl..even if the condom is broken...is that why my wife is pregnant?

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

Haha, I really don't want to go into the psuedo-sexual overtones of your avatar. Make sure your wife uses pre-NATAL vitamins to ensure a healthy, "hardcore" gamer of the next generation, you Master Chief idolizing fiend.

Halo 3 never broke 60% of the time.

You're confusing a game with a broken poll about a console's reliability.

Jaspers came out in late 2008, right? Then I'm good.

@kitler53,

It is mentioned in the article,

"This was a self-selecting survey, so it doesn't represent a random sample of console owners. It's likely that people whose consoles have had problems are more motivated to fill out the survey, but the results are still interesting when you compare the Xbox 360 to its competitors"

From Wikipedia,

Self-selection is a term used to indicate any situation in which individuals select themselves into a group, causing a biased sample with nonprobability sampling.

So basically it was like the weekly polls that we have around here?

Yes, but it's not on a site that is full of fanboys.

Until that poll came up >_>

I don't believe it for one bit.  If there is a poll of the 360's failrate the fanboys will flock to it.  Its as simple as that...

The same could be said about the survey they have held about the failurerate for the PS3 and the Wii, XBOX360 fanboys should have overflod those as well, going by your logic.

And please, please don't tell me the XBOX360 doesn't have fanboys!

So you agree that this poll is a waste of server space then?

No.

But I'm curious, tell me: which kind of study/survey do you trust then?

Thing is, if you don't WANT to belive something, no matter how much evidence saying otherwise, you will still not belive it. And that the truth of the matter here.

Heres the problem with your belief....read

What makes that poll any less different than the poll posted on CNET (besides number of votes)?

Online polls are not a piece of factual evidence......there just polls with no regulations on who can vote , how many times you can vote and as such are subjected to EXTREME bias making the polls null and void.

The fact that you keep pushing this "study/survey" (call it what it is , an internet poll........not even in the same universe as a study/servey) really shows what kind of a member you are.

Stop....seriously

And if you still believe that that poll is still relevent then you have to acknowledge my "survey/study" that the ps3 has a 100% failure rate or I will call EXTREME bias on your part

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

its a ms website so i believe them.

With a PS3 sig of course you do.
