Well I never played RE darkside chronicles but I think RE5 was pretty good. Myabe Capcom will come up with something really good when they release the next Resident Evil main title.

Simple answer : scary doesn't sell as much as action( same as movies). |
True, but when you have a series that has about games done 6 the same you have a loyal fan base that love it. Dramatically changing it risks losing those promised sales from die hard fans.

I woudn't bet on it. Re5 is the follow up of Re4 and did better... Personally I know I will get both DMC5 and Re6.. |
That's because people loved RE4 but by judging from this thread there are quite a few that give the impression they won't get RE6 and bad news moves faster than good news.
Damn Kylie I mean HOLY SHIT where did that come from
I too believe they lost it since RE3 actually I like the camera and controls of RE4 I thought they are changes for the best, but the whole design of the game went action instead of Survival horror which is a shame. I know that RE4 is regarded on of the best games last gen but it feels to me like the GTA IV of last gen just a letdown (although not to the same despise as Kylie
)
Resident Evil 5 has a high user rating on Xbox live so regardless of what a few message board posters think, the majority of RE5 owners enjoyed the game.
yes they lost it with 5 for me i only liked the last half of the game i dont even want to go back and replay it for the trophies i didnt get i agree with u about 4 even though it was different it had the touch and the regenerators scared me 2 re cv was the best for me though
well see wat capcom can do with the dlc for re5 coming soon hope 6 has big changes that will appeal to me they need common environments not 3rd world country's and bring back zombies please or do a re2 hd remake something needs to be done

Play Me
I'm not a fan of the series but part of horror is feeling helpless. In almost every scary film, the main characters don't have any formal training or skills that can help them evade or survive a zombie outbreak, homicidal spirit, manic serial killer,etc. From what I've seen from RE4 and RE5, Leon and Chris are far from helpless and therefore the scariness nears nonexistant.
Here's an idea, what about a new Resident Evil with new characters who have fend off a virus outbreak.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Not to mention it revolutionized the industry as a whole as it brought around the cinematic action genre (but it had horror aspects to it). But RE5 was a radical twist away from it as it took the horror out for mere gory and shock moments. More akin to Gears (which is inspired by RE4) than staying with the tradition. I wish they would keep the RE4 style but stick along the same measures that RE4 stuck to which is at its roots. And of course not ruin the storyline like in RE5 would be nice. I'm still hoping out that RE5 turns out be a dream haha. |
This pretty much sums up my thoughts 100%.
Great post Zucas.
